Nandu News Reporter Zhu Rongting Intern Tan Wanying Recently, the Guangdong People's Publishing House launched a new year gift dedicated to Chaozhou -- "The Legend of Chaozhou" -- Chen Pingyuan, a professor at the Department of Chinese of Peking University and a famous scholar, wrote the title of the book for the biography of his hometown city, "The Biography of Chaozhou".

With rich and detailed historical materials, beautiful and affectionate brushstrokes, rigorous and credible historical materials, and the tone of large prose, "Chaozhou Biography" shows the details of the people's livelihood of the cultural Chaozhou and establishes the biography of Chaozhou culture. The book traces back to the Neolithic FubinGuo and writes about the development and changes of Chaozhou as a famous historical and cultural city, an important town on the Maritime Silk Road, an important overseas Chinese township in China and an old revolutionary area.

Huang Guoqin, the author of "The Biography of Chaozhou", is nearly seventy years old, and is now a member of the Chinese Writers Association, a member of the presidium of the Guangdong Writers Association, a first-class writer, and has served as a member of the presidium of the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, the chairman of the Chaozhou Literary Association and the chairman of the Chaozhou Writers Association.

The book is divided into dynasties, interspersed with four threads. The first is the change of urban form: for example, how the city of Chaozhou came from scratch, and how its cities, buildings, and streets have changed over the centuries. The second is the change of life form: especially the style of people's dress in different eras, how the cuisine has evolved more and more exquisite and delicious; what classes of people live in the streets and alleys, and even what surnames live in what places, how these people's homes have changed; the structure, decoration, use and differences of famous buildings and ordinary houses have detailed descriptions; and the unique customs and festivals of Chaozhou folk are also described in detail. The third is the change of economic form: what did Chaozhou develop, the development process and changes of commercial development at home and abroad, and the production and sales of small commodities, all written from the cultural origins, and it is interesting to read for a long time. The fourth is the change of cultural form: including Chaozhou's culture, education, religion, folk arts and crafts, etc.; this is the author's more focused content in the book, but also a highlight of Chaozhou's local culture, folk admiration for culture, creating a unique and long-standing cultural characteristics of the region.
