Manchester United's former England international Phil Jones has played just one game in the first team in the past two years, but the club priced him £15m, which could have prevented him from making a transfer in the winter transfer window.
The 29-year-old Jones played his first 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the new year's opening game, which was his first official game for Manchester United in 708 days. Flying General has played well in the game and is one of the most consistent players on the team, so United see an opportunity to sell him at a higher price.
Jones renewed his contract shortly after Solskjaer took charge of Manchester United on a contract until 2023, with 18 months remaining. According to the British "Daily Mail", Manchester United's asking price for Jones is quite firm, and any offer below 15 million pounds will be rejected outright, regardless of price reduction. In 2011, United spent £16.5 million when they signed Jones from Blackburn.
