On January 18, the reporter learned that Philippe Monier, vice chairman of the Oroa Regional Council of France, was invited to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics Sister Cities Cooperation and Development Forum by video on the 14th local time, and made a speech on the topic of "Olympic preparations and social development". He expressed confidence that China will successfully host the Beijing Winter Olympics.

In his speech, Vice President Monier briefly reviewed the exchanges and cooperation between the Oroa Region and Hebei, Shanghai and other friendly provinces and cities, combined with the experience of the Oroa Region as the world's largest ski region and the three successive winter Olympic Games (the first Winter Olympics in Chamonix in 1924, the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, and the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville), shared the successful experience of promoting infrastructure construction, mountain economy and winter sports development by hosting the Olympic Games, and expressed the full support of the Oroa Region for the development of winter sports in China. It is expected to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in related fields after the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Monier extends his best wishes to the Beijing Winter Olympics, believing that China will successfully host an outstanding, efficient and high-tech Winter Olympics!

The forum was co-sponsored by the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Beijing Municipal People's Government, and the People's Government of Hebei Province, and attended by about 200 local representatives of more than 20 countries that have established sister cities with Beijing and Hebei. Chinese and foreign guests exchanged views on the theme of "Meeting in Beijing Winter Olympics and Seeking Cooperation and Development" and related sub-topics, shared the experience of the Olympic Concept, docked with sister cities, and wished the Beijing Winter Olympics a complete success.
