The movie version of Downton Abbey is finally coming out to meet you! Directed by Michael Engler and written by Julian Ferros, the film version stars Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockrell, Hugh Boneville, Matthew Goody, Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Hagrid, Tarpens Middleton, Kate Phillips, Stephen CampbellMore, and others.
Set in Yorkshire during the reign of King George V in the 1910s, the series shows the human landscape of Britain's upper nobility and servants.

The fifth season premiered on September 21, 2014, with nine episodes.
On March 26, 2015, PBS and ITV officials announced at a joint press conference that the sixth season of Downton Abbey would come to an end.
The film version of Downton Abbey will be officially released in the UK on 13 September 2019.
