Pan Ruchun, the sixth advanced worker in Chongqing, is a staff member of Chongqing Yongchuan Middle School and a senior teacher of high school mathematics, and is currently teaching mathematics in the 3rd and 8th classes of the 2022 class. In the past 31 years of teaching, Pan Ruchun has conscientiously implemented the education policy of the party and the state, been loyal to the people's educational cause, been a good teacher of the "four haves", and been a "big sir" in the new era. While teaching at Yongchuan District No. 1 Middle School, in order not to let a student drop out, he and liu Zhonghai, a chemistry teacher, walked 4 hours to the classmate's home after school in the afternoon to visit the home. Communicating with the parents of the students, the students were finally brought back to the classroom, and it was already 5 a.m. the next day. During his work at Beishan Middle School, in the face of students with family difficulties, Pan Ruchun took out 200 yuan per month from his salary to fund the students' study and life until he graduated from college, and the classmate now works in Chongqing and contributes to the development of Chongqing.

Now, Pan Ruchun is more than half a hundred years old, looking at his beloved student, there is another emotion. In the classroom, Pan Ruchun treats his children like a child, strict and kind, meticulous care, even if any student fails to keep up with the pace of learning, once there are students who are lax in learning and relaxed in life, Pan Ruchun can always find out at the first time, talk to them, and put them back on track.

"Teach natural, clear, and useful mathematics, and cultivate confident, honest, and healthy people." This is the educational concept that Pan Ruchun has always upheld. In the classroom, caring for every student, turning the classroom into a platform for teachers and students to communicate, a space for common growth, gradually forming a personal teaching style, and putting forward the teaching proposition of "intuitive teaching". Based on his understanding and contribution to education and teaching, Pan Ruchun was awarded the title of "Senior Teacher of Primary and Secondary Schools in Chongqing" in 2017. In the past 31 years, he has cultivated 16 classes of students, including flight guards to defend the safety of the motherland's territorial airspace, designers of the "Jiaolong" deep-sea exploration, launch experts of launch vehicles, white angels who guard life, and ordinary hometown builders.

During his teaching at Beishan Middle School and Yongchuan Middle School, Pan Ruchun used his wisdom to help subject teachers and lead the subject team to make progress together, and successively brought out Xu Min, Yang Li and other award-winning teachers of the first prize of the Chongqing High School Mathematics Youth Competition; brought out a large number of teaching experts from various schools such as Zhao Yongzheng and Wang Xiangying; and brought out a group of backbone teachers at The Chongqing municipal level, such as Zhu Jian and Chen Yinhong.

Especially during the poverty alleviation education in Huili City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Pan Ruchun was deeply touched by the education of the local Yi people in the concentrated places of residence. Due to geographical and historical conditions, many elderly Yi people in the area have never stepped out of the mountains, and they still speak the local Yi language, which is difficult to communicate with our commonly used Chinese. As a teacher, Pan Ruchun is keenly aware that if he cannot use Chinese proficiently, as a descendant of the Yi people, it will be difficult to integrate into this rapidly developing modern society. Therefore, together with the expert team of Beijing Normal University and with the support of the local government, he jointly investigated and researched, not only fully respecting the feelings of the Yi people, but also in order to meet the needs of the development of the times, combined with the mainland curriculum standards, specially formulated the local curriculum plan.

Courage to shoulder heavy burdens, old and strong

As the person in charge of the Chongqing High School Mathematics Curriculum Innovation Base, Pan Ruchun can always unite and lead the majority of teachers, with the support of school leaders, pool their wisdom and efforts, overcome difficulties, while completing his own work, he did not pay, lasted 4 years to successfully complete the major projects issued by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, achieved fruitful results, improved the teaching quality of Yongchuan Middle School, and provided experience and paradigms for the construction of mathematics disciplines in other high schools in Chongqing.

Even after achieving many honors and achievements such as famous teachers in Yongchuan District, backbone teachers in Chongqing, and visiting scholars of the "Light of the Three Gorges" in Chongqing, Pan Ruchun has never stopped learning and self-improvement. Today, although he is nearly retired, he is still an old man and actively participates in the Ministry of Education's "Famous Teacher Pilot" project.
