Dong Cunrui, who came from a poor peasant family, served as a children's regiment leader when he was a teenager and was known as a "little hero of the anti-Japanese resistance." In July 1945, Dong Cunrui joined the Eighth Route Army, and he made many military achievements, and the class he led won the title of "Dong Cunrui Model Class for Military Training". In May 1948, the battle of our army to attack Longhua City began, and Dong Cunrui served as the leader of the demolition team. When the company launched a charge, it was suddenly blocked by the fierce fire of a hidden bridge-type bunker of the enemy, and at the critical moment when the troops failed to blast the bunker twice, Dong Cunrui picked up the explosive package and rushed to the bunker, he did not hesitate to hold up the explosive package, pull the fuse, and opened the way forward for the troops with his own life, and was only 19 years old when he died.
