Beijing, 20 Jan (China News Service) -- The inauguration ceremony of the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum and the opening ceremony of the "Building Dreams Together -- Overseas Chinese and the Winter Olympics Theme Exhibition" sponsored by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and undertaken by the China Overseas Chinese History Museum and the Management Service Center of the Public Welfare Undertakings of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was held in Beijing on the afternoon of 20 January.

Located in the main urban area of Chongli, the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum is the largest and most abundant Winter Olympic Ice and Snow Theme Museum in China, and an important guarantee project during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Its construction lasted 7 months, bringing together nearly 30,000 overseas Chinese from 53 countries and regions to participate together, and won the full support of overseas Chinese associations and overseas Chinese-funded enterprises at home and abroad, which is another monument of love for overseas Chinese after "Water Cube" and "Beichuan Middle School".

Wan Lijun, secretary of the party group and chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, pointed out at the inauguration ceremony that in 2019, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese issued a proposal for "donating to the construction of the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum" and collecting related exhibition collections to overseas Chinese around the world. The broad masses of overseas Chinese compatriots, the relatives of returned overseas Chinese, overseas Chinese businessmen and overseas Chinese enterprises, and the federation of overseas Chinese at all levels have responded positively and enthusiastically participated, fully demonstrating the profound feelings of the vast number of overseas Chinese compatriots who are concerned about Sangzi and love the country and their hometown. It is hoped that the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum will become an important base and window to help the construction of a sports power and a healthy China.

Lian Yimin, deputy secretary of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee, pointed out in his video speech that the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government fully implemented the concept of "four Olympic Games" and the requirements for simple, safe and wonderful games, closely focused on achieving the goal of "wonderful, extraordinary and excellent", and used the strength of the whole province to promote the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The Zhangjiakou competition will produce 51 gold medals, athletes from all over the world will compete on the same stage in Chongli, and the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum will also witness this grand event.

In his opening speech, Zhao Wenfeng, deputy secretary of the Zhangjiakou Municipal CPC Committee and mayor, congratulated the completion of the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum and expressed gratitude to the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese at home and abroad who cared about the Winter Olympics and supported the construction of the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum.

After the inauguration ceremony, the guests watched the theme exhibition of "Building Dreams Together for the Future - Overseas Chinese and the Winter Olympics". The exhibition is divided into 5 chapters: "Overseas Chinese Hearts Are Related to a Hundred Years of Realizing Dreams", "Ice and Snow World Dream Sailing", "Global Elite Dream Racing Field", "Pure Sincerity Danxin Winter Olympics with Me", "Ice and Snow Sports Everyone Participates", through nearly 400 pictures, more than 300 exhibits, more than 200 videos and more than 100 works of art, multi-angle and all-round review shows the contributions made by overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese relatives to China's sports cause, especially ice and snow sports.
