Blockbuster news! Archaeologists have excavated a large number of cultural relics in the funerary tomb of the Qin Shi Huang Emperor Mausoleum, filling the gap in the high-grade tomb archaeology of the Qin Dynasty, which is another major harvest of the archaeology of the Qin Shi Huang Emperor Mausoleum.
Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of the Qin state and the first political figure to complete the unification of China, and had a very high position in the history of the mainland. Not only that, Qin Shi Huang himself also attached great importance to the mausoleum, so the specifications of the mausoleum built were also very high, but now the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace has not been excavated, only the terracotta warriors have been excavated.
Although the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace has not yet been excavated, the appearance of the Terracotta Warriors has shocked the world and is known as the eighth wonder of the world.
Although the mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin has not been excavated, the archaeological work on the periphery has been carried out, and now it has been detected that there are more than 600 funerary pits and funerary tombs with different sizes and shapes and different connotations.
Among them, in a high-grade funerary cemetery area on the west side of the outer city of Qinling Cemetery, there are more than 20 ancient tombs, 120 ash pits, 4 pottery kilns, 4 ancient river beds, and 14 tomb funerary pits have been found.
In this high-level funerary burial area, there are a total of 9 large tombs, 4 on the east side are in the shape of "middle" characters, close to the mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin, and there are 5 on the west side, in the shape of "A". The tombs are neatly arranged and are specially designed at first glance.
In fact, the specifications of ancient tombs are very exquisite, although Qin Shi Huang unified the six kingdoms, but the "ritual system" of the Zhou Dynasty is still affecting the lives of people at that time, and the same is true for tomb specifications. According to the regulations, only the Son of Heaven can use the "Ya" glyph tomb, the princes use the "Medium" glyph, and the scholar uses the "A" glyph.
Since 2013, mainland archaeologists have excavated one of the four "Zhong" glyphs, known as "Tomb No. 1".
Tomb No. 1 has a total area of 1,900 square meters, a total length of about 100 meters, a depth of 15.6 meters, and two rectangular burial pits on the west side. Archaeologists according to the location of the tomb, excavated cultural relics, the first tomb should be after the unification of the Six Kingdoms of Qin, belongs to the Qin Dynasty tombs, and also has a relatively independent cemetery, the specifications are higher, it is speculated that the owner of the tomb should be closely related to Qin Shi Huang.
Unfortunately, there are 5 robbery holes in this tomb, 3 of which have entered the burial chamber, causing serious damage to the cultural relics in the tomb, a large number of ceramic products are broken, and the cultural relics conservators have repaired the excavated cultural relics.
After the restoration by archaeologists, the complete cultural relics that have been restored so far include: gold and silver camels, copper flat pots inlaid with glass, jade dings, silver hounds, etc. One of the cultural relics looks like a deer, with alert ears and a very vivid expression, which makes people marvel. The tomb also unearthed gold and silver camels, which were a key means of transportation on the Silk Road in the Han Dynasty. (Silver Camel)(Golden Camel)
From the excavated cultural relics, it can also be seen that this tomb is very luxurious, the cultural relics are very valuable, and it also illustrates the life of the high-ranking nobles of the Qin Dynasty, fills the archaeological gap of the tombs of the high nobles of the Qin Dynasty, and provides key evidence for the study of the evolution of the tomb system in the Qin and Han dynasties.
Of course, if we can open the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, perhaps we can get more information about the Qin Dynasty, and even subvert our understanding of the Qin Dynasty and Qin Shi Huang. But more than 50 years have passed, why don't we dare to open the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Underground Palace?
Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin
According to the current version, the qin shi huang underground palace has been built since the beginning of qin shi huang's reign, and the construction of the imperial tomb has a principle: the emperor does not die, the project is not completed, that is to say, it cannot be said that the underground palace is repaired and waits for Qin Shi Huang to die, but the qin shi huang mausoleum must be repaired until qin shi huang dies, and it is completed.
In this context, some people have calculated that the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang should have been built for 37 years, but some people say that the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang was built until Qin II succeeded to the throne, and it was built for a total of 38 years.
In the process of construction for more than 30 years, the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang was built very luxuriously, according to the "Historical Records": The Palace View Hundred Officials and Strange Artifacts Rare and Strange Migration Zang Manzhi ... Mercury is used as a hundred rivers and seas, and the organic phase is instilled, with astronomy on the top and geography on the bottom. Take mermaid paste as a candle, and the degree of immortality will last a long time.
If we can excavate the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace, will we not only be able to witness history, but also verify whether the scenes recorded in the "Records of History" really appeared?
But in fact, we cannot excavate the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace at present. There is a rule in the archaeological community, only when the mausoleum suffers a devastating blow, such as: flood, tomb robbery, etc., otherwise it will not take the initiative to excavate, and it is precisely because of this Although the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang has been found for many years, after inspection, it was found that the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang was not stolen, nor is it destructive, in order to protect the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, there has been no active excavation.
The main reason for not excavating is that in the original soil environment, cultural relics are well preserved, and once excavated, cultural relics may appear irreversible changes. For example, when the terracotta warriors were first unearthed, they had color, but after oxidation, they had no color.
At present, we not only did not take the initiative to excavate the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace, but also in order to protect it from being destroyed, in addition to arranging people to check whether anyone had robbed the tomb, we also planted trees on the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace to avoid local soil erosion and damage the Qin Shi Huang Underground Palace.
Although we also very much want to uncover the life of Qin Shi Huang, when there is no need, we will still restrain our curiosity and let it be preserved for a longer time.
