On September 27th, the 11th Beijing Film Festival "Focus on the Future" section came to an end, during which fourteen films such as "Whaling Boy", "Chupacabula" and "Mr. Suzuki" participated in the competition, of which twelve films participated in the screening. The "Focus on the Future" section is dedicated to discovering and launching new film talents and new works, encouraging innovation and stimulating creative vitality, and the films are the director's first or second feature films. This year's "Focus on the Future" section was chaired by British filmmaker and film critic Tony Lane, with Greek director Giannis Sakaridis, Chinese actor Huang Lu, writer Shuang Xuetao and producer Shen Xuan as judges.
The work that won the honor of "Most Watched Film" this time is the Iranian film "The Outsider". Directed by Nader Sewa, the film focuses on the profound social issue of "alienation" and presents an aggressive social atmosphere.
The winner of the "Most Notable Director" honor was Philip Yuryev, the director of the film Whaling Boy. A graduate of the Russian State Film Academy, his feature film debut, Whaling Boy, is set in the Chukotsi Autonomous Region of russia's Far North, where the film shows an online romance story by the protagonist, Lyoshka, which permeates the loneliness of the adolescent boy and his strong desire for love.
The filmmaker who won the honor of "Most Eye-catching Artistic Contribution" is the cinematographer of the Chinese film "Lost".
It is reported that the top ten awards of the "Temple of Heaven Award" in the main competition unit of the 11th Beijing International Film Festival will be announced at the closing ceremony on September 29.
