Recently, the Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center sent a letter of thanks to our center, expressing gratitude for the support and assistance given by our center in the protection of underwater cultural heritage in Shandong and the investigation of coastal defense sites in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Since 2018, rushan cultural relics protection center has actively cooperated with the underwater archaeological survey work of the Shandong Underwater Archaeology Research Center, sent personnel to participate in the underwater archaeological survey and the Ming and Qing coastal defense site survey for many times, and assisted in completing the 2018-2019 Weihai coastal modern shipwreck land survey report. In 2021, we also cooperated with the completion of the investigation of the Ming and Qing coastal defense sites along the coastal area of our city, and a total of 39 Ming and Qing coastal defense remains of 3 categories were investigated and found, including 3 forts, 8 military villages, and 28 smoke piers (5 newly discovered tobacco piers), basically understanding the ming and qing coastal defense system in our city.
