Emma Roberts said of her aunt Julia Roberts "I never aspired to be her".

Emma Roberts believes she will live up to her surname with her aunt actress Julia Roberts, and that she is unique in the world of acting.

"I never aspired to be her. I love her very much. I love her job, but I'm just doing my own thing," actors Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham's 30-year-old daughter told Tatler Magazine's March 2022 cover feature.

Roberts undoubtedly paved the way for the characters he chose— if Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" was used as a touchstone.

"My favorite parts are what people didn't expect — for example, when Ryan Murphy asked me to star in 'American Horror Story,'" the former Nickelodeon International children's channel star began. "People thought I was a pretty girl, and I couldn't play an older, more avant-garde role at the time."

"He gave me this opportunity and I'd love to do it for others," the "Nancy Drew" actress added.

Roberts entered the Hollywood stage at a relatively young age. When she starred in "Blow" with Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp, she started working at just 9 years old.

At other interview points, Roberts recounted her experience wandering the streets with celebrity-obsessed paparazzi while pregnant with her first child.

"The way I was tracked and treated when I was pregnant was disgusting," she said of the December 2020 moments before greeting a son named Rhodes with Genesis: Legacy.

"I would drive to the doctor and they would keep an eye on me. At one point, I remember saying to them, 'Please don't do that.' I'm eight months pregnant. But they don't care. It's certainly not the fun, creative part of the job. ”

Roberts also talked about the privilege of being able to accompany her aunt on the set of "Irene Brokovich" and "Sweetheart of America."

"I would write closet labels, organize makeup brushes, and see how they make continuous books," she explains. "I would ask questions without a filter. The industry is really 'learning by walking'. ”
