"Every day is different, but the general module is the same. The work flow of the day is roughly: first patrol the warehouse in the morning, see the working status of the members of the group, whether the machine and materials can operate normally, and then hold a morning meeting, the afternoon will deal with some of their own work, and follow up the order in the evening. Ling Rou said that there are 40 people in her team, and when the promotion nodes such as 618 and Double 11 are promoted, the team members will increase to 5 times, and the team members are composed of team leaders, operators, data engineers, engineering mechanics and other roles. The members worked together to achieve efficient and stable operation by using the automated equipment in the warehouse, sorting more than 50 boxes of masks from various countries on average per second.

Now, her normal daily working hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Because the service is a bonded warehouse, according to the amount of orders and know the workload of the next day in advance, if the next day's order volume is small, it may be 12 noon to work, 6 pm to leave; if the next day's order volume is large, may go to work in advance.

At the beginning of joining Cainiao, she was responsible for inventory, encountered big promotions from merchants, piled up goods, and fast operation of assembly lines and automated sorters. "At that time, I was really confused, and my psychology during that time was relatively broken." Ling Rou said that in the later stage, through the establishment of a special team to deal with the inventory problem, it was slowly solved.

At present, the import bonded warehouse where Lingrou is located mainly stores daily necessities, beauty, skin care and other categories, and now the daily shipment volume is 15,000 to 20,000 orders, and the ratio of orders to the number of commodity pieces is about 1.5.

The relationship between Lingrou and logistics should start with the university. She was studying German in Germany at that time, and when she chose to major in graduate school, she felt that the logistics industry was not very developed and the market growth space was large, so she chose to study logistics. The reason why she chose to work in Hangzhou, Ling Rou said, on the one hand, she stayed in Germany for a long time and was used to a slightly slower life; on the other hand, Hangzhou is an e-commerce city, and the related supporting logistics are very developed.

According to data from the State Post Bureau, in the whole year of 2021, the volume of mainland express delivery business reached 108.3 billion pieces, an increase of 29.9% year-on-year, and the number of parcels accounted for more than half of the world. The same-city, off-site, international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express delivery business accounted for 13.0%, 85.0% and 2.0% of the total express delivery business volume, respectively; business revenue accounted for 7.9%, 50.6% and 11.3% of the total express delivery business revenue, respectively. According to the Data of the Institute of High Industry Industry (GGII), the intelligent warehousing market size reached 85.65 billion yuan in 2019 and is expected to reach 198.1 billion yuan by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 15.0%.

"The machine is more in the storage and picking area, but the picking and packaging links still need to be done by people." Ling Rou said that the reason for the use of manual mode, on the one hand, is to use a mechanical arm to pick goods is prone to commodity damage, the appearance of small goods is difficult to identify the situation; on the other hand, the efficiency of picking goods with machines will be very slow, the mechanical arm is generally in accordance with a certain path to pick goods, not as flexible as manual, it is difficult to cope with the large shipment of warehouses and large promotions.

LingRou said that it is expected that logistics companies will use big data, 5G and other technologies, combined with digital intelligence to open up the link from the home country to China, such as customs clearance, shipping logistics and other links.
