Said to be smeared and intimidated by Trump Jr. Wiedemanti lawsuit

Alexander Vindman, who testified in former President Trump's first impeachment case, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Trump Jr., Giuliani and two other former White House aides, claiming that after his testimony, they carried out smear and intimidation campaigns in retaliation against Wiedeman.

The indictment alleges that Trump's eldest son, Trump Jr., his personal lawyer, Giuliani, and White House aides Dan Scavino and Julia Hahn colluded with each other to "prevent Lieutenant Colonel Widman from holding and performing his duties by force, intimidation, or threats for a common purpose," in violation of federal civil rights law.

The indictment also reads: "Whether or not impeachment is considered justified, a deliberate attack on a witness solely because he or she is involved in official proceedings and tells the truth cannot be dismissed as a political exercise as usual, which is intolerable in a country based on the rule of law." No matter how harmful our political climate becomes, such illegal behavior cannot be considered 'normal' in any healthy democracy. ”

Wiedeman told lawmakers during Trump's impeachment trial that "it would be inappropriate for the president to ask foreign governments to investigate U.S. citizens and political opponents." Eventually, Trump was acquitted by the Senate, who quickly fired Wiederman and pointed the finger at other senior U.S. administration officials deemed unfaithful. Not only that, but Trump also removed Wiedeman's twin brother, Army Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Vindman, from the National Security Council.

In the latest lawsuit, Wiederman alleges that Trump Jr. and Giuliani, among others, had met to discuss strategies for dealing with impeachable witnesses and develop talking points to push for "false statements" that questioned Wiedeman's loyalty to the United States.

The lawsuit alleges that the men are also spreading false claims that Wiedeman was a Ukrainian spy, claiming that he had leaked classified information while trying to prevent him from being promoted to colonel.
