[Rereading History] It is not so much that Di Renjie is a divine detective, but that he is an official with sophisticated means and integrity

Film and television dramas have become popular with Di Renjie, and the TV series "Detective Di Renjie" has not only made one after another, but the majority of Di fans still hope to make a fifth film, which cannot be said to be popular. But weekdays are busy at work, and at night, I still have to code words, so I watch less TV dramas, so I don't care much about entertainment things. It just so happened that Professor Geng Zhe wrote this book "The Truth about Di Renjie", which satisfied our curiosity.

Unsurprisingly, when I opened Yu Gengzhe's "The Truth About Di Renjie", I found that Di Renjie had another face.

[Rereading History] It is not so much that Di Renjie is a divine detective, but that he is an official with sophisticated means and integrity

In this book, Di Renjie is not so much a detective as he is a clever and upright official.

The book contains that he judged 17,800 cases a year when he was a Dali Temple, that is to say, an average of 49 cases were decided every day, which was definitely the first in the Tang Dynasty in terms of quantity, and even the first in history. However, when it comes to specific cases, Teacher Yu said that the history is unknown, so Di Renjie concluded that there is no real case to check. Perhaps it is this kind of ominousness that gives space for literary creation, and novelists and playwrights use their literary imagination to write detective stories one after another and shape Di Gong into a detective image.

Whether it is jokes or ridicule, without the novelists' reconstruction of historical figures, we have few opportunities to get close to historical figures. After all, it is unrealistic for you to let an ordinary person read the Twenty-Four Histories.

The classic is not afraid of being subverted, remember watching the American version of "Brothers Grimm", it is simply a prank of the original, but this does not affect people's love for the classic original "Brothers Grimm", so the "preachers" do not have to have so much hostility to the classic remake.

From the author's account, I can clearly feel that Di Renjie's information is not very much, and the appendices of the book are attached to the "Old Book of Tang" and the "Biography of Di Renjie" of the New Book of Tang, which add up to only a few tens of thousands of words. Being able to reconstruct Di Renjie's image in extremely scattered materials is impossible to master such a skillful way without a certain degree of historical control skills.

After watching "The Truth about Di Renjie", through the narration of Teacher Yu Gengzhe, we can really understand the truth of a real Di Renjie.
