The DS E-Tense Performance Concept car's body casing is made entirely of carbon fiber, and the powertrain is directly based on the power of a Formula FE car. The front axle motor has a maximum power of 250 kW (340 hp), the rear axle motor has a maximum power of 350 kW (476 hp), and the system combined power is 600 kW (816 hp) with a torque of up to 8000 Nm.
The DS E-Tense Performance Concept also has up to 600kW of kinetic energy recovery power, which can completely stop the vehicle with kinetic energy recovery alone, but the DS E-Tense Performance Concept is still equipped with a high-performance braking system.
The vehicle's battery pack design, also inspired by Formula FE racing, is located in the middle and rear of the vehicle and is protected by a carbon-aluminium composite shell designed by DS PERFORMANCE. The battery pack was jointly developed by French energy giant Total Energy and its subsidiary Saft.
The DS E-Tense Performance concept car will be tested by two FE champion drivers, Jean-ric Vergne (above) and Antonio Felix da Costa (below).
