Foreign media: Hyundai Motor has returned to the Japanese market after 12 years

According to the news of Yonhap News Agency on the 8th, Hyundai Motor announced on the 8th that it will return to the Japanese market after 12 years, but it will only sell electric vehicles online.

According to the report, Hyundai Motor held a press conference in Otemachi, Tokyo, Japan, on the same day. President Zhang Zaixun said in a video speech that Hyundai Motor began to actively promote hydrogen fuel vehicles after becoming the world's first car company to successfully mass-produce hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in 2013.

Hyundai motor entered the Japanese market in 2007, but canceled most of its business in 2009 due to poor performance, and has since focused on selling commercial vehicles such as buses. Hyundai Motor plans to pre-sell the Electric Vehicle Ani Krypton-5 and the Hydrogen NEXO in Japan from May, with deliveries starting in July.

According to the analysis, considering that Japanese car companies such as Toyota are relatively backward in electric vehicles, Hyundai Motor has decided to specialize in hydrogen fuel vehicles and electric vehicle markets.

The report also said that another view pointed out that because Hyundai Motor's local sales network has not yet been built, it is expected that it will be difficult to expand the market share in the short term. However, Zhang Zaixun said that the company will build an online car purchase system, so that consumers can complete the whole process of test ride, budget consultation, ordering, payment, and delivery online.
