Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the list of outstanding projects in the 2021 National Art Museum Collection Exhibition Season, and the list shows that 10 exhibitions from a total of 10 art museums across the country were selected.
Among them, the Guangdong Museum of Art in Guangzhou is listed for the exhibition "Amusement to the West: Guan Liang's Style History Research".
The exhibition takes "image evidence history" as the research method, in-depth case studies with Guan Liang as the core, and uses the works, articles, historical documents, photos and other materials of Guan Liang and his friends to connect the memorabilia of the entire exhibition. The exhibition is divided into three parts: "Foreign Painters" (1900-1949) under the Reformed Trend of Thought, "Chinese Painters" (1950-1976) shaped by the times, and "Game Brush and Ink" (1977-1986) that returns to the self, thus forming the historical context of Guan Liang's image. At the same time, taking the historical and cultural context of modern and contemporary China (1900-1986) as an auxiliary clue, cultural events related to Lianggong's artistic creation ideas are presented, in order to present the historical image, personal image and work image of Guan Liang in different historical periods.
