Hebei is so amazing that it can be said to be unique in the country.
It is said that Hebei is a patchwork province, and four of the eleven prefecture-level cities in the province have been brothers in the province:
Zhangjiakou has been the capital of Chahar Province, Chengde has been the capital of Rehe Province, Baoding has been directly subordinate to Hebei Province, and now Shijiazhuang is the capital of Hebei Province, and what is even more incredible is that even Tianjin and Beijing have also been the capital of Hebei Province. Later, with the adjustment of regional divisions, Rehe and Chahar were abolished and split, and some areas were incorporated into Hebei.
You may have heard of Henan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Northeast, and Cantonese, but you have never heard of Hebei dialect, because the dialects of Hebei are very different, and no one can represent the whole province. The provinces mentioned earlier, although the dialects of various regions in the province are also different, but basically the same, can understand each other, while Hebei is very different. Qinhuangdao speaks Northeastern dialect, Chengde speaks Mandarin, Zhangjiakou is close to Inner Mongolian dialect in the north and Jin dialect is spoken in the south; Langfang speaks Beijing dialect, Handan people speak Henan dialect, Cangzhou and Hengshui are close to Shandong dialect, Xingtai and Shijiazhuang accents are similar, and the western dialect is like Shanxi dialect.
Hebei is the only province in the country with all landforms, with plateaus, basins, mountains, hills, plains, and seashores, and a very complete range of types. There are mainly three major geomorphological units in the Bashang Plateau, Yanshan Mountain and Taihang Mountain, and North China Plain.
