Two forgotten traditional festivals
1. Mountain God Festival. The sixth day of the sixth month of the lunar calendar is called "Mountain God Festival" by mountain people living in mountainous areas. On this day, sacrifices are made at mountain temples, praying that mountain gods will supervise the beasts and bad people in the mountains and protect people and animals and mountain forests. Song Zhenzong received the "Book of Heaven" on The Sixth of June in Mount Tai, so he called the day "Heavenly Gift Festival". In the past, the rich employed long-term workers, which was a day off, so it was also called "long-term workers' day". The farmer has the habit of "June 6, stir-fried noodles", which is to taste new wheat and eat fried noodles every day. During the Cultural Revolution, the Mountain Temple was demolished. In recent years, parts of the mountainous area have been rebuilt and there are still incense sticks, but as a traditional festival has fully entered history.
2. Mid-meta section. The fifteenth day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, formerly known as the "Ghost Festival". In the old society, lamps were placed in the City God Temple and the Land Temple to worship the lonely souls; "river lanterns" were placed in villages along the Wen River (this habit was abolished after the founding of the People's Republic of China); family sacrifices were held in farmers in Dawenkou and neighboring Laiwu, which was like the New Year; and farmers in the provincial village area swept graves, and some villagers in the area still have this habit.
Traditional festivals are mostly superstitious, but pure superstitious activities have lost the soil for survival, and pure festivals based on superstitious activities have gradually been forgotten.
