Regarding the chip production capacity, Galaxy Microelectronics said that at present, the company's four-inch tablets are about 80,000-100,000 pieces per month, and 5-inch six-inch pieces are about 20,000-30,000 pieces per month, all for self-use. For external chip companies to enhance their own packaging and testing capabilities, whether it will affect the company's business planning problems, Galaxy Microelectronics said that the company's discrete device industry development IDM model has two typical paths: one is a chip technology-based company, a specific variety of discrete devices have a strong competitive advantage, to provide customers with independent chip corresponding discrete devices, in the development process gradually strengthen the packaging and testing technology and production capacity. The other type is companies based on packaging and testing technology, which have a multi-variety, multi-specification product series, can provide customers with "one-stop" procurement services, and continuously develop chip technology and production capacity in the development process. The company belongs to the second type, has always had a clear positioning and clear business planning, because different enterprises have their own different development history, so the technology is long, the advantages will be different.
In addition, Galaxy Microelectronics added that for the vehicle regulation project, the current planning company began to lay out the layout in related aspects earlier, including joining the Technical Committee of the International Automotive Electronics Association in 2018, obtaining corresponding certifications for related products, etc., and in recent years, it has also been continuously expanding the relevant market. Vehicle-grade products have strict quality and technical control requirements, the project mainly builds chip production lines, packaging and testing production lines and reliability laboratories that meet the production management needs of vehicle-level products, aiming to strengthen the integrated design and production integration capabilities of vehicle-level discrete devices.
