Shanghai Radio and Television Station Launches 4K Natural Humanities Documentary "Yerkand River"

The 4K natural and humanities documentary "Yeerqiang River", planned and produced by the Documentary Center of Shanghai Radio and Television Station, is a key project of Shanghai's "Cultural Runjiang". Today (February 15) afternoon, the launching ceremony and expert planning meeting of "Yerkand River" was held in Shanghai.

Yarkand means "a place with a wide land". The 970-kilometer-long river flows through the vast desert and majestic mountains, dotting the oases. More than 2,000 years ago, Zhang Qian sent an envoy to the Western Regions to open up the Silk Road, and since then it has become the meeting point of Eastern and Western civilizations. The documentary will use the Yeerqiang River as a series to correctly reflect the evolution of the ethnicity, religion, and culture in the Yarkand River Basin, let the people of all ethnic groups understand the historical truth, and build a solid sense of the Chinese national community.
