Green and Charles Barkley had a section of Beef.
A few years ago, Barkley said on TNT's Inside the NBA show that he wanted someone to punch Green in the face, much to the displeasure of the Golden State Warriors star. Two years later, green was well prepared when he saw Barkley, but he was surprised by the apologies and kindness of the NBA Hall of Famer.
Green prepares to fight Charles Buckley because he says he's going to punch him in the face
The feud between Green and Barkley dates back to 2018. During a playoff game between the Warriors and pelicans, Green got into an argument with Rajon Rondo on his way to the locker room. When TNT broadcast cut to the intermission of inside the NBA show group, Barkley unexpectedly said Green should be punched up quickly.
"I just wish someone could punch him in the face," Buckley said. "I really think so. I very much wanted to punch him in the face. I'm telling you. I wanted to punch him in the face. I really want to. "
Green had apparently heard Barkley's comments, a threat that made him less happy.
The quarrel lasted for several years, and both outspoken men were lashing back and forth. In 2020, Green came to TNT Studios to join Barkley, Cari Champion, and Dwyane Wade on an episode of The Arena; he was ready for everything that night.
"I'm not saying a f***ing word to him," Green said to himself, according to The Athletic's Logan Murdock. "I don't like him, if we have to fight, then we have to fight."
Fortunately, neither Green nor Barkley was violent.
Draymond Green and Charles Barkley are now good friends (ah this)
Last year, Green walked into the TNT studio thinking he might be in a square up with Barkley, but the opposite happened that night.
The two actually became friends.
"What's wrong, little green!" Barkley said when he first met Green, according to Sport. "My brother, I'm glad you're here."
"Completely disarm me!" Green said of the encounter.
Green eventually gave Barkley a chance, and he eventually forgave Barkley for his disrespect.
"He's one of the nicest people I've ever come into contact with in my life," Green told The Athletic. "It caught me off guard because it was the exact opposite of what I expected."
Now, the two hang out together in the offseason, and Barkley helps Green on TNT's shooting set from time to time. From Nemesis to Close Friend: Little Green's Story.
Future colleagues?
Green, who has tried broadcasting several times before, has done incredibly well on the set at TNT with limited recordings. It's possible that he, like Barkley, joined Inside the NBA program group after retiring from the NBA and became his colleague, but Green has yet to decide on his retirement.
"I'm not sure," he said. "I think there's a parallel world and I might do it; I think there's a parallel world, and I probably won't. Who knows? I think I probably have six years or so left. Who knows what all this will look like in six years. "
If Little Green really pursues a career in broadcasting, what a powerful duo it would be.
