Beijing, February 21 (Su Jingxin) On the evening of the 20th, the "Fairy Tale Kingdom of the Ice and Snow World" activity was successfully concluded at the Austrian Embassy in Beijing.
During the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Austrian Embassy in China, the Austrian National Tourism Administration and the Commercial Office of the Austrian Embassy in China jointly organized the Austrian Winter Experience Event "Fairy Tale Kingdom of the Ice and Snow World". The event created a strong Austrian winter atmosphere through real-life construction, and connected live with Austrian athletes participating in the Winter Olympic Games to experience the excitement of the Winter Olympic games at close range.
At the closing ceremony of the event, Bai Minghao, Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy in China, said that Austrian athletes have achieved excellent results in this Winter Olympic Games, winning a total of 18 medals, ranking seventh in the medal table, and we are proud of this. In his speech, he pointed out that before the start of the Winter Olympics, there were many Chinese athletes who participated in training in Austria all year round and also used Equipment made in Austria, so we are also proud that Chinese athletes have won medals.

Bai Minghao said that Origi enterprises have provided equipment support for the construction and operation of the venues of the Winter Olympic Games, such as cable cars, chairlifts, snow grooming, ice surface manufacturing and so on. He pointed out that in the past four years, Origi's exports of winter sporting goods to China have been worth more than 200 million euros.
Bai Minghao said in an interview with china news agency reporter that the Beijing Winter Olympics will drive the rapid development of China's ice and snow market, and through the Winter Olympics, more people have learned about skiing, skating and other ice and snow sports. "This is also more of an opportunity for Austria, and we are very optimistic about the future of China's ice and snow sports market."
Barbara Stark, marketing manager of the Austrian National Tourism Board, said that the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics is a very good opportunity for Austria. She said that China is one of Austria's important tourism markets, with more than 1 million Chinese tourists visiting Austria in 2019, of which about a quarter of them came for winter sports. "I hope that after the epidemic is over, Chinese tourists can come to Austria for a holiday and experience the austrian winter style."
In the evening, the Austrian Embassy in China organized live music performances and invited guests to watch the live broadcast of the closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics in the outdoor artificial snow scene. (End)
