Why does a good retina detach?

In view of Mr. Wang's retinal detachment, if the surgical reduction is not performed as soon as possible, it may lead to further damage to vision, causing other ocular complications, and in severe cases, blindness and even eye atrophy. According to relevant statistics, retinal detachment caused by high myopia is the main factor of blindness caused by high myopia, and nearly 10% of patients with high myopia have experienced retinal detachment. In this regard, Vice President Zhang Jinglin suggested that the left eye be treated surgically as soon as possible.
However, because Mr. Wang's lesions progressed rapidly and affected the macular area, and Because Mr. Wang originally suffered from ultra-high myopia of 2000 degrees, and had undergone myopia correction surgery for lens implantation, it was difficult for him to perform vitrectomy in his left eye to complete retinal reduction.

Patients with high myopia require regular fundus examinations
Many myopia patients will think that having done myopia correction surgery and not wearing glasses is "curing myopia", but in fact this idea is wrong. Vice President Zhang Jinglin pointed out: "High myopia can be achieved by doing myopia correction surgery to achieve 'lens removal', but this can not change the essence of high myopia, therefore, myopia patients, especially high myopia patients need to do regular fundus examination, do a good job in the prevention and control of fundus diseases." ”
