#Ukraine# Reports of Russian troops crossing the border into Ukraine, using precision ballistic missiles.
The U.S. ABC reported that Russian troops have now crossed the border in eastern Ukraine near the city of Kharkov as bombings continue in the area.
Anton Gerashchenko, Ukraine's deputy minister of internal affairs, told the media that troops had crossed the border near Kharkiv. A former senior adviser to the Ukrainian government also confirmed the reports, saying he was notified by the president's office, while Ukraine's main news agency, UNIAN, also reported the news.
Kharkiv is ukraine's second largest city, just about 20 miles from the Russian border. However, it does not border areas controlled by separatists.
Ukrainian authorities also said Kiev and several cities east of it had been trapped by ballistic missiles. At least seven cruise missiles, or ballistic missiles, hit a military airfield near Kiev, where fighter jets are located, Grashenko said. So far, the missiles appear to have hit mainly targets on the outskirts of the city.
Russia's defense ministry said it was striking air bases, military infrastructure and air defense systems across Ukraine, but said it would not target Ukrainian cities themselves.
The ministry said it was using "high-precision" missiles.
Explosions also continued to be reported in Odessa, Dnipro and Mariupol. Headlines hit list
