1. What made you choose to become a designer? Can you talk about your upbringing?

I've been painting since I was a kid and have always been passionate about color, shape and design. At the age of 13, he was introduced to Photoshop and began teaching himself graphic design. At first, it was a simple design for some friends and small businesses, such as wedding invitations and business cards.

Later, I began to find different customers on the Internet, build my own website, understand the market, gain experience and refine and enrich my resume. Then, I joined some design studios as a designer, and in recent years I've enjoyed working with startups to help them better communicate their ideas through user experience, illustration, and animation design.

2. We see that your painting videos are extremely calm, will you have a draft before this? Can you tell us about the inspiration for your illustrations and the drafting process?

I think painting calms people. When I need to relax or relax, I draw and doodle. Real-life inspiration that gives me indispensable, including people, cities and nature, will be the source of inspiration for my creativity. Sometimes I also get inspired by browsing through sites like Dribbble, Behance, and Instagram.

My painting process usually starts with a concept in my head, I try to conceive interesting animations, compositions and stories in my mind, and then "freeze" this moment in my head, and immediately draw it in my pen and convert it into a sketch. When painting for a customer, the story must be shared with the concept of the customer's product, which is the best form of presentation that can communicate with the customer and explain the company's ideas, including illustrations, icons, and animations. Then, choosing the right color scheme, creating the atmosphere I want to achieve, sometimes this sketching process takes several hours to adjust, and finally start painting.

3. In the specific production process, what kind of drawing process do you follow, how to match specific colors? Where did these cute animations come from?

The first thing to focus on when starting a new drawing is the composition, and I always pay attention to and need to make sure that the position and size of the drawing objects are reasonable. When choosing colors, I often get color inspiration from sites like Color Hunt, where I can find the right, up-to-date, trendy color combinations. After creating the basic shape of a drawing, I dig deeper into the details, retouch the shape, and add shadows, highlights, and textures.

4. What is your typical day like?

I usually wake up at 9 a.m. to start my day and walk 20 minutes to the office of the startup I'm working for. My work typically includes meetings, brainstorming with colleagues, designing, presenting, and working closely with developers, product managers, and copyright personnel. In the evenings, I usually respond to emails, watch YouTube videos, share content with my fans, and spend quality time with my partner and friends in my free time.

5. What suggestions can I give to designers who are learning commercial illustration, are there any artifacts that you find easy to use, or recommended books that inspire you the most?

I believe that any skill can be learned, and persistence is the key to improving skills. I find it necessary to do a little exercise once a day. I recommend that novice designers fill their environment with something that inspires and motivates them. Follow illustrators, designers, and artists on social media, watch videos about design, read articles, and keep learning as much as you can.
