This made him personally appreciate the preciousness of life and the helplessness of patients, as a volunteer who often donates blood for free, Lu Jing came up with the idea of donating hematopoietic stem cells. On March 12, 2012, he solemnly signed his name on the informed consent form for hematopoietic stem cell donation from the Red Cross Society of Jiangsu Province...
"After 9 years of waiting, I finally had the opportunity to deliver on my promise." On September 27, 2021, Lu Jing received a call from the county Red Cross Society, his hematopoietic stem cells were successfully matched with a leukemia patient, and if he agreed to donate, he needed to immediately undergo the next high-resolution matching and physical examination. Lu Jing said that the success rate of non-related matching is about one in hundreds of thousands, and she is the person who can help the other party by one hundred thousandth, so the first reaction is that you must donate.
After high-resolution comparison and physical examination, Lu Jing was admitted to Taizhou People's Hospital on December 17, 2021, and successfully donated 396 ml of hematopoietic stem cell suspension, becoming the 7th case in Rudong County, the 59th case in Nantong City, the 990th case in Jiangsu Province, and the 12525th hematopoietic stem cell donor in China.
Love is passing on
Raising your hand for love is easy once, not difficult ten times, and what is valuable is the persistence of hundreds of times. Whenever people praised him, Lu Jing always said lightly, "As long as the body allows, anyone can do it." In order to strengthen the team of blood donation volunteers, Lu Jing began by mobilizing his wife to participate. Under his influence, his wife Wang Weiwei donated blood with him and won the bronze medal of the "National Unpaid Blood Donation Award" from 2012 to 2013.
In Lu Jing's view, it is better for a person to donate blood a hundred times than for a hundred people to donate blood once. More often than not, he hopes to infect and influence more people to participate in public welfare blood donation through his own actions. Although donating blood needs to go to Nantong City, more than 60 kilometers away from home, every time she receives a call for help from the blood station, Lu Jing always does not delay for a moment, and immediately drives to it, rain or shine. Many times, he also took the initiative to bring friends of his blood type to ensure that the blood bank completed the day's blood collection task. Over the years, many relatives, friends and colleagues have cherished every opportunity to donate blood to save people, and gradually, from incomprehension to understanding to support, and finally joined the unpaid blood donation team with him.
