Caron Butler: Unseld's father is the first man in Wizards history, and he will definitely be a coach

Live Bar July 23, 2019 Wizards wes-Onseld's son Wes-Unseld Jr. took office as Wizards coach. Former Wizards and current Heat assistant Coach Caron Butler spoke about Unseld Jr.

Butler said: "He's very competitive and we all know why — he's from the Unseld family and his father is the first man in Wizards history. Growing up in a family like this, you're bound to learn something, and you'll have your own understanding of the game, which is why he's up to the job. ”

Unseld Jr.'s father spent 13 years of his career with the Wizards' predecessor, baltimore/Washington Bullets, averaging 36.4 minutes per game and averaging 10.8 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He was the regular season MVP of the '68–69 season; the only championship trophy in Wizards history in the 1977–78 season, and was named FMVP. His No. 41 jersey was retired by the Wizards.
