Specifically, BMW Brilliance announced that it will recall from now on the BMW 3 Series and X3 vehicles with automatic transmission defects from December 25, 2019 to October 12, 2021, for a total of 6 vehicles.
The reason is that the bolts in the assembly part of the mechatronic control system of the automatic transmission are not installed correctly due to production errors. Over time, it may cause internal failures in the gearbox, and the gearbox is switched to emergency mode, resulting in power interruptions in the vehicle's driving; It may also lead to the failure of the transmission parking lock, and in extreme cases, the vehicle will be skidded during driving, and there is a safety hazard. BMW Brilliance AG will replace the automatic transmission mechatronic control system assembly free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
At the same time, BMW (China) also announced that it will expand its recall from now on to import 37 BMW 2 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, X3, X5 and X6 vehicles with defective airbags from November 5, 2013 to August 25, 2017.
The driver's front airbag of the vehicle covered by this recall is equipped with a gas generator containing ammonium nitrate produced by Takata Corporation, and its gas generator is not perfect in moisture protection, and the gas generator may deteriorate under the influence of repeated changes in temperature and humidity. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may be abnormally damaged, causing debris to fly out and injuring the people in the car, which is a safety hazard. BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the improved driver front airbags free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
Next, Mercedes-Benz (China) announced a recall of 5,034 S-Class vehicles with a production date of 5,034 units from June 21, 2021 to November 8, 2021; Beijing Benz announced that it will recall a total of 25,773 domestically produced C-Class vehicles with production dates from December 9, 2020 to November 29, 2021, from today.
Due to the software problem of the communication module control unit, the vehicles within the scope of this recall may cause the voice connection to not be established during the emergency call or the emergency call function cannot be used, resulting in the delay of the relevant rescue and the existence of safety risks.
Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will upgrade the communication module software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge through the remote upgrade (OTA) technology of the car, and users can eliminate safety hazards without going to the store; For vehicles that cannot be recalled through the Vehicle Remote Upgrade (OTA) technology, the relevant users will be contacted through the Mercedes-Benz Authorized Service Center to upgrade the communication module software for the vehicle free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
Finally, Hyundai Motor China decided to recall a total of 1,090 imported Kia Ka Wah vehicles produced from October 10, 2016 to February 27, 2018, effective March 18, 2022.
The reason is that when some vehicles within the scope of the recall vibrate or impact, the airbag control module (ACU) housing and the internal memory may interfere, and long-term interference will cause memory damage, airbag warning lights are lit, resulting in vehicle collisions When the airbag may not be able to unfold normally, there is a safety hazard.
Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the vehicles within the scope of the recall, if the airbag warning light is not lit, then the vehicle will upgrade the airbag control module program free of charge, the airbag expansion control parameters are stored on the internal memory and the microprocessor at the same time, when the internal memory is damaged, the airbag warning light is lit, but the airbag can work normally; If the airbag warning light is lit, the airbag control module is further inspected, and if the control module is damaged, the improved control module is replaced free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.
