March 3 marks the fifth anniversary of the release of the Nintendo Switch, and Japanese game magazine Famitsu has taken this opportunity to bring together a list of the best-selling "top 35" games in Japan since the launch of the Switch.
It should be noted that Famitong's list is limited to domestic sales in Japan, and only includes the physical version and does not count the digital version, so the total number of copies sold is for reference only.
While Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition is the best-selling game worldwide, Collection! Animal Mori Yukai tops the list in Japan. Also ahead of Mario Cars is Nintendo Smash Bros. Brawl in second place. Pokémon games on the Switch are also essential, with Sword/Shield ranked fourth and Crystal Diamond/Brilliant Pearl ranked ninth.
In addition, Jet Warrior 2 ranked fifth, followed by Fitness Ring in sixth place. Momotaro Electric Railway finished seventh as a Japanese national game (only Japanese people can play it). Minecraft, the only Western game in the top ten, ranked eighth. "Strange Hunt: Rise" guards the top ten gates.
