Recently, Honda's new wind tunnel laboratory in the United States was officially opened, which marked a new era in the research and development and testing capabilities of Honda, Acura products and racing projects.
Located in an independent transportation R&D center in Ohio, USA, the new laboratory will be invested in a $124 million and will be equipped with aerodynamic, aeroacoustic and racing testing capabilities. The new laboratory will undertake research and development on the driving aspects of conventional products, and will also conduct related tests for electrified models.
It is reported that the laboratory's maximum wind speed can reach 190 mph. Its testing capabilities contribute to the range and performance testing of Honda and Acura's future pure electric vehicle models. For reference, Honda has been developing and manufacturing in Ohio for more than 40 years, with a total investment of more than $14 billion.
