Xihan hemp paper has long been found, but there is not a single ink stain in sight. Later, several pieces of hemp paper were found at the site of the "Hanging Spring" of Dunhuang Han in Gansu Province, one of which belonged to the Xinmang period, with more than 30 words of ink books remaining, suspected to be letters, and the earliest paper book found so far.

The ink book remaining in this new piece of mang linen paper is mainly lishu, the handwriting is flat and square, the cloth between the words is white and loose, the main stroke is obviously twisted, and its dot painting is flexible and changeable, and its weight, speed and slowness, square circle, staggered and other unified coordination, jumping on the paper. There is a clear relationship between the strokes, which is very written, and the starting and closing pens of the strokes in the characters are diverse, and the side of the stroke is rotated, vivid and natural, thick and majestic, and the force penetrates the back of the paper. Looking left and right, it is like the wind blowing willows swaying. In the inkblot, there are obvious italic folds at the beginning and turn of the words "solution, grace, contempt, fear", etc., "folded into a square, turned into a circle", which is a typical physical evidence from the change of affiliation to the kai, line, and grass.
