The Bible records that about 6,000 years ago, god flooded the whole world in a fit of rage, and Noah built a large ship called "Noah's Ark" to save sentient beings, so that all kinds of land creatures could be saved from this catastrophe.
In modern civilized society, a person abroad was inspired by the story of "Noah's Ark" and also built an "escape pod". His purpose was to protect people in the face of a nuclear catastrophe.
Next, let's visit Canada's largest private bunker, Ark 2.

According to the British "Daily Star" reported on March 29, the late Canadian computer science teacher Bruce Beach has built his "Ark 2" underground bunker in the village of Horning Mills since 1980, which is converted from 42 old school buses and is said to be large enough to accommodate up to 500 people.
(Bruce usually locks the iron door of the bunker.)
Located in the Davlin area about 10 kilometres northeast of Toronto, Bruce's Ark 2 is 10,000 square feet (929 square metres) and features everything from a kitchen with canned and dried goods, bedrooms with rows of three-story single beds, thoughtfully designed showers and screening rooms.
Powered by chain diesel generators, the anti-nuclear bunker is impregnable in all structures and almost impenetrable by anything other than a direct nuclear strike. There's even a deployable antenna that can send radio waves throughout North America.
Bruce bought all the used school buses, buried them in the ground, and poured tons of concrete on the cars to wrap them all up.
Bruce spent a total of 40 years, and the exact cost is still unknown, only that he joined more than 50 volunteers to complete this big project.
Surprisingly, Bruce didn't charge any rent for the shelter, but only let people participate in the construction in exchange for everyone to share the project.
The former teacher once said that a full-scale nuclear war would wipe out more than 80 percent of the world's population, and that the only way to rebuild civilization was to protect the next generation. So to be precise, this bunker was designed specifically for kids in Bruce.
Bruce even imagined that when the time came, people would bring in large quantities of food and then distribute it here. He also invented a unique "angelic" language that claimed that people could use it after leaving their shelter.
In an interview with Global News, Blues biographer Paul Kell added, "Bruce's vision of the Ark is that when there is a nuclear war, the Ark can be a refuge for people. But he needs to live to be 120 to complete all of his plans. ”
However, Canadian authorities once demanded that Bruce close the bunker for security reasons, leading to bruce arguing with them.
Darren White, the local city, even put down a harsh remark, "Ask the fire captain to weld it up." ”
So, it's no wonder Paul laments, "Even if you have great dreams like Bruce, if you go it alone, have few resources, and have very limited help, then you can't achieve those dreams." ”
Unfortunately, on May 10, 2021, Bruce died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 87. His family buried him near this sprawling shelter.
Without Bruce, the guiding light, the fate of Ark 2 is still unknown.
Bruce's daughter, Bahia Eldner, has said it will be difficult to continue maintaining the building and selling the land without paying the expensive demolition costs.
So, maybe one day in the future, Ark 2 will disappear from the earth.
