Lance McDonald, a prolific game data cracker, discovered a deleted NPC quest line in The Elden Ring.
According to McDonald, if you visit Storm hill Shack during network testing (it was formerly known as Savener's Shack, today is the spot where you'll meet Roderika) you'll find it empty. Before that test, however, the site appeared to be the home of an unknown NPC named Jigo Monk.
According to the original game setting, Jigo was seduced by the "Lady of Good Wine" and needed your help to collect the ingredients of Dreambrew, a magical liquor that could be shared with other NPCs to unlock bonus dialogue.
McDonald also insists that this explains why the game originally harbored non-combat sleeping animals all over the world, since it is from them that the "stain" can draw "dream fog" as one of the ingredients of supernatural wine.
"So for me, it's a bit of a surprise that such a deep mechanic was cut from Elden Ring, to be able to collect dreams from sleeping animals, to access a completely chopped NPC character, to get a special drink, and to get brand new dialogue from other familiar characters," McDonald said in the video description.
