MINI regrouped and fought the endurance race again

The MINI John Cooper Works is the vehicle that will be racing for the Nürburgring 24 Hours of Endurance from May 26 to 29. This year marks the 50th Nürburgring 24-Hour High Speed Endurance Race, which is still taking place at the Nürburgring's legendary Nord Schlev Circuit, which is 25.378 km long.

The MINI John Cooper Works race car is equipped with an original 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 306 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, equipped with a mechanical differential lock between the wheels and a locking efficiency of up to 70% to ensure that the drive torque is fully transmitted to the track.

Mini John Cooper Works was modified to comply with fia fiat SP3T class regulations. Includes the installation of a racing roll cage, a 100-litre fuel tank, body aerodynamic modifications involving an adjustable rear wing, full-coverage underbody spoiler, rear diffuser and front separator.

The body has also been lightweighted, including the most basic Makrolon glass. The suspension system is fitted with racing-specific shock absorbers with adjustable rebound and compression damping. All chassis and suspension components were replaced with reinforced single ball bearings. For the quick pit stop of the endurance race, an aerodynamic lift was also installed on the chassis.

Of course, the original car's exhaust system has been removed, replaced with a sports exhaust system and a three-way catalytic converter for racing cars. In order to adapt to the intense track driving, the brake system of the whole car was converted into the BMW M high performance brake package.

The exterior of the car is painted in the traditional red and white of the 1960s MINI racing car, making the car still look full of classic flavor.
