I have a place to live in the town of Sixi, about 20 kilometers from Taizhou City. As long as I go back to my hometown, I will definitely go there to paint and live for three or two days. The surrounding environment is good, quiet and suitable for painting. Silt Creek is located at the southern end of Lixia River Water Township, and you can see water everywhere you go out. Every time I go to The Muddy Creek, I must take the time to go around town. Women wear red or green turbans, carry more baskets on their arms, and their faces are red and fluttering, looking healthy and simple. The town's vegetables are fresh and inexpensive, and most of them are grown by nearby farmers. Aquatic products such as fish and shrimp are also cheap and can be bought wild. I often go to town in the afternoon or evening. At the intersection of the town center, vehicles and pedestrians shuttled back and forth, and there was an endless stream. On the edge of the cement road, there are all kinds of board trucks and motor vehicles parked horizontally and vertically, and vendors are selling all kinds of fruits here, freshly picked corn, eggplant, beans, live fish in plastic barrels and wooden barrels, and carp carp. The old man and the old lady were selling things while sniffing melon seeds and chatting, and the fat sister-in-law and the hanzi did not forget to say some jokes with meat and vegetables while selling goods... In the street market under the sunset, many scenes are full of lively atmosphere.

In the evenings of midsummer, my wife and I often drive to town to buy corn, sweet potatoes, eggplant, beans and loofahs. We especially like to buy melons. In the summer, it is hot, and people need to replenish water and eat more fruits. I have a high blood sugar and watermelon is too sweet to eat more. Cucumbers are dull and unpleasant to eat. And the water melon-shaped cucumber, green is lighter. Locals say that most of the melons and cucumbers grow on the ridge stacks, the soil on the ridges is fertile, surrounded by water on all sides, and it is living water, so the water melons are watery and refreshing, almost no sugar. Take a bite on a hot day, raw and crisp, slightly sweet and moist, very cool. In groups of three or five, they sang some flattering words in front of the door of the nearby people's homes, collected the money, and left from near and far. I got up late, although I did not open the door to greet me, but I clearly felt the strong new year. However, in the spring of 2020, from the beginning to the end, I did not hear the gong and drum singing the phoenix. Alas, this wind, rain, and snow, why is it so overlapping? This year has passed in heaven, earth, and people are listless, not only is there less gong and drum sound, it is really cold and can not be cold anymore! Fortunately, as time passed, it gradually returned to normal. The town is popular again, and people and cars are coming in and out. At the intersection of the town, there are cars, vendors, and women wearing colorful headscarves. That day, my wife drove and stopped. I asked why? She said to buy some sherry. I waited for her in the car. After a while, she took two handfuls of fresh snow lily, dripping green, fat and tender, and threw them at my feet. I was surprised: I thought I had bought it and pickled it. I said: You buy fresh and go back to pickle yourself, not afraid of annoyance? She said: Or their own pickled authenticity, eat at ease. Recently, we went to town again. The silt creek is the calm of the past that does not lose its liveliness. Whether in the morning or evening, when you go to the town of Silt Creek, you have to sell raw and cooked, meat and vegetarian, eat and use, and everything. Even if you don't buy it, the quiet and serene atmosphere of the town is comfortable to stand there and watch and experience. Indeed, the quiet and good years are truly the greatest blessing of the people.
