Today (28th), the second Qinghai-Tibet scientific expedition "peak mission" Everest scientific expedition was fully launched, with a total of 16 scientific expedition teams and more than 270 scientific expedition team members participating, which is the most extensive scientific expedition since the second Qinghai-Tibet scientific expedition in 2017, with the widest coverage of disciplines, the largest number of participants in the scientific expedition team, and the most advanced instruments and equipment used.
The reporter of the main station followed the report throughout the process and took you into the scene of the "Peak Mission" Everest scientific expedition. Click on the video to watch the exclusive aerial photo of everest East Rongbu Glacier.
The Everest scientific expedition will reveal the environmental changes in the extremely high altitude area of Mount Everest under the background of climate warming, the characteristics of greenhouse gas concentration changes, and propose innovative scientific solutions for the nature conservation of Mount Everest.

Explore the mysteries of atmospheric self-purification
Today, the Everest Atmospheric and Human Health Expedition Team officially obtained the first batch of observation data such as ozone and nitrogen dioxide of the Everest Expedition. These precious data are an important basis for scientists to decipher how the Tibetan Plateau affects the ability of the atmosphere to purify itself.
Eight weather stations were erected
Four of them are over 7,000 meters above sea level
The "Peak Mission" Everest Expedition has a special and very important mission, to build 8 weather stations from 5200 meters to 8800 meters above sea level, of which 4 weather stations over 7000 meters, their altitudes are 7028 meters, 7790 meters, 8300 meters and 8800 meters. Among them, the weather station at an altitude of 8800 meters will be the highest automatic weather station in the world after successful installation.
The automatic weather station with 8 different gradients mainly monitors the temperature, relative humidity, wind direction, wind speed, air pressure and radiation parameters in the Everest region, and can realize the real-time remote transmission of data.
"Jimu-1" TYPE III floating boat
The atmospheric environment will be tested
At an altitude of 4276 meters, the Everest Comprehensive Atmospheric and Environmental Observation and Research Station of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in Tashi Zongxiang, Dingri County, Tibet, about 30 kilometers from the Base Camp of Mount Everest, is an important natural laboratory for mountain atmospheric science and environmental science research in the north slope of Mount Everest, making up for the gap of long-term positioning and monitoring of the north slope of Mount Everest.
In this "peak mission" Everest scientific expedition mission, the scientific expedition team will use the "Jimu-1" III floating boat independently developed by the mainland to carry out a comprehensive test of the high-altitude atmospheric environment here. The floating boat will challenge the world's highest liftoff altitude, and its liftoff target is expected to surpass the summit of Mount Everest.
The floating boat departed from Hebei on April 22 and is still on its way to Everest Station. The floating boat team has reached the expedition team of Everest and is working on the construction of the camp.
