Kane Interview: 17-year-old dirt debut Last year's double award was the pinnacle of trying to break the Shearer record

In an exclusive interview with England captain Kane in the April 26 issue of Match magazine, the Three Lions recalled his senior debut on loan, his career debut, Tottenham's first penalty on penalty charges, his season on the 18th, his interesting history as a goalkeeper and his peak of winning a double award last season, saying he would try to break Shearer's Premier League goal record.

Memories of youth team careers: Young players naturally have dreams of embarking on a career path, but 11-year-olds are actually just enjoying the joy of football and don't think too much about the future. I just remember being proud of wearing the Tottenham Hotspur shirt.

Remembering his senior debut: I played Rochdale for Layton East. I came off the bench and the venue was in very bad condition, the water was very bad, as if to say to me welcome to the League One. I just remember being so excited and running non-stop for 15 minutes. I earned the respect of my teammates and the manager, and I wasn't afraid to fall to the ground and get muddy, just trying to help the team.

Memories of my career debut: My career debut was at home against Sheffield Wednesday and I obviously still remember it clearly when the ball passed to the far post and I shot it into the top corner. I was 17 years old at the time, on loan to League One side Layton Orient, one of the most important periods of my career, and I gained experience and made steady progress towards the top flight.

Celebrate the debut ball

Reminiscing about tough moments in my career: The period on loan with Norwich and Leicester City was perhaps the toughest time of my career. My loan spells at Layton Orient and Millwall were very successful, but after joining Norwich, I was never able to integrate well into the team, then returned to Tottenham due to injury, and then I was loaned to Leicester City, but found that I rarely made it to the starting line-up.

Recall Tottenham's debut: it was against Hartz, and that debut was really not very good, and I also missed a penalty. I'm really proud and excited to be playing for Tottenham, and although the game didn't go the way I expected, it was still one of the most important moments of my career.

Remembering the past when I wore the number 18: the season I wore the number 18 was my first major season at Tottenham. Defoe left the team and he said I could have the number he left behind, and I told the jersey manager that he gave me number 18. That season, I started to get a steady playing time in the Premier League.

Recalling the history of being a goalkeeper: it felt really weird. The good news was that I completed the first hat-trick of my Tottenham career in that game and although Lowry was sent off, we already had a 5-0 lead. I thought, I'll try it. Many non-goalkeeper players have imagined themselves as goalkeepers. Lowry handed me the captain's armband before he left the court. The jersey of that game, I still treasure.

Speaking of the peak of my career: In 2015-16, we fought with Leicester City for the league title, unfortunately we didn't get what we wanted, and that season I scored a lot of really good goals. I feel like I'm improving every season. Last season I won the top scorer and the king of assists, and it was a really successful season.

Take the Golden Boot

Speaking of the Premier League's all-time goal record: I think I can break the record and, of course, there is a gap of more than 80 goals, and I will try to achieve this goal. I feel like I can continue to play for many years. Alain Shearer is the kind of center that is unparalleled and it feels really good to be able to keep getting close to his record.
