We are alive! And now, we are free!
Some time ago, I completed an ending of "Detroit: Becoming a Human", here to share this game with you, but also to talk about some of their own ideas.
This is a pretty good interactive movie game.
Interactive movie games are still more suitable for players to experience themselves, because different choices may have different plot directions, a small move may put you in a dilemma or benefit a lot at some time in the future, everyone should have their own ideas, and everyone should be responsible for their own choices. So I try not to reveal too much about the plot in this issue, and I hope that everyone can explore on their own.
I only completed a relatively good ending, world peace, and humanity began to face up to the status of bionic humans. I have some opinions on this ending, which we will talk about later. However, just an ending played for 13h, which shows that this work has a lot of content support. Everyone has their own choices and ideas, and here I will only talk to you about this game based on the ending and experience of playing.
Front row reminder: Before the creation of this article, the author did not refer to any other people's reviews, all reviews are completely subjective, not objective at all, not professional at all, and completely view the game from the perspective of ordinary players.
Cinematic scenes. The grand place can see the arrangement of the entire street scene, and the subtleties can see the treatment of the micro-expressions on the faces of the characters, whether it is the violinists who play on the street, the bustling crowds, or the arrangement of calligraphy and paintings in the room, and the magazines placed randomly on the coffee table, all give a sense of realism. But at the same time, the sci-fi elements of the game give people a sense of freshness: bionic people lining up to walk on driverless buses, mechanical birds singing their voices, transparent screens scrolling advertisements... These give the player a futuristic, unreal feeling.
The sound of the game is very comfortable. With headphones on and hearing people talking from far and near, accompanied by ambient music, it's easy to immerse yourself in the world the game has shaped. The blend of real and unreal feelings is amazingly well integrated. Ending with scenery, the game substitutes the atmosphere through the environment. Although most of the time the low, dark tones are nerve-tightening, the scene where Marcus works with the painter is a warm color, and the warm sunlight shines in, which can also make the player feel that the painter is actually an equal to Marcus. There are still many wonderful points in the scene, I will not dwell on them here, and please experience the taste of it yourself.
Interactive movies naturally need to promote the progress of the game through the interaction of players with scenes, characters, and plots in the game. As mentioned earlier, Detroit: Incarnate as a Human has a large number of text and content support, and players have a variety of options, which makes it possible for the plot to develop in more directions.
Not to mention a complete ending can play more than 10 hours, just say that in a small chapter, you choose not to pick up an item, have you found clues hidden in the corner of the bathroom, your choice between saving people and tasks, etc., these things are related to the direction of the current task, and even have a profound impact on the development of the plot later. A small level may have dozens of branches, and most of them have their own plot performances, which is amazing for how well they are.
(I wanted to give an example, but I wanted to give players who want to play later have a more complete story experience, which will not be repeated here) There is a favorability setting in the game. NPC favorability to the protagonist will change depending on the protagonist's choice, if the favorability is too low, some branches cannot be triggered, and even the protagonist may be killed by NPCs.
Against the backdrop of the growing contradiction between humans and bionic humans set in Detroit: Becoming Human, the plot is developed from the perspective of the three bionic protagonists. The plot of the three people is relatively independent, intertwined but hurriedly separated. However, the overall cleanliness does not give people a cluttered feeling.
We know that although linear processes have different branches, the general direction is still forward. The linear process can feel like a bundle of hands, while interactive movies like Detroit: Becoming Human set a scene, either a room where a murder has occurred, or an empty street, with relative freedom to find clues and items in a limited area, allowing players to be more involved.
It's a bit of a shame that the streets that Detroit can explore are more limited by barriers, and when you reach the border, you will jump out of the red letter to remind you that you can't pass, and it may be better if you use some obstacles such as barricades, abandoned vehicles, etc. to obstruct the way.
I'll just write a few "after-play feelings" about the endings I've played with myself. In this ending, the three protagonists successfully survive and kiss Marcus with his girlfriend surrounded by humans, so that humans realize that bionic humans also have emotions, and under the pressure of public opinion, humans reconcile with bionics. Although it is a so-called good ending, the protagonists did not die, but I think this ending is very ridiculous.
I will not discuss the attitude of human beings to the future of artificial intelligence here, nor do I want to delve into the implication that the theme of bionic humans has no human problems, but if the bionic people really want to revolutionize, if they want to get their own equal rights, shouting slogans but causing their necks to be killed, and handing over the right to live and kill to each other, it is really naïve and ridiculous.
But the good thing is that "Detroit: Incarnate as a Man" is not the only plot development direction I chose, I also understand some of the endings that make me more satisfied, but here I will not reveal much, I recommend that you try it yourself.
"Detroit: Becoming a Human" as an interactive film is undoubtedly quite excellent, based on deep text content and many branches, giving players plenty of choices, coupled with meticulous modeling, realistic scenes and moving sounds, etc., and has a more profound thinking and connotation. With depth, breadth, and rich branches, this game is perfect. I highly recommend this game for everyone to experience. (Don't look at other people's guides when playing!) )
I am a big occasional person who likes to share the joy of the game, discuss the story of the game, and discover the fun of the game. Favorite friends can follow me.
