Chang'an Yijie: Some people say that the "Little Red Man" you painted has many secrets: say that he is like a father to give people care; say that he is like a son, give people hope; say that he is like a friend, give people help; say that he is like a doctor, give people health... Others say he's like himself, giving himself strength! Can you explain it to us?
Wang Jiachun: In fact, these are not secrets, but the artistic feelings of each person when they look at the paintings. An old colleague of mine more than twenty years ago left me a message on the public account, saying that the "Little Red Man" in his mind is an abstract good wish, expressed with a warm, image symbol. It's like a thousand people, there are a thousand Hamlets. Out of a thousand people, there are also a thousand different "Little Red Men".
However, "Little Red Man" really has some secrets that I can share with you:
First, in the red color of the "Little Red Man", it is mainly arsenic sand, which is traditional in China
In culture, arsenic sand is to ward off evil spirits and attract blessings, so every "red villain" hides the auspicious meaning of traditional Chinese culture.
Second, in 2013, I published a picture-illustrated philosophical novel published by Guangdong Huacheng Publishing House. After the publication of the book, it was rated as the first outstanding publication recommended to the elderly in the country by the then State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Television and the Office of the National Committee on Aging. The title of the book is "Live to Understand", and the "Little Red Man" is actually the prototype of the god man in the novel, the protagonist.
Third, this "little red man" has a name. It is the protagonist of the novel, whose name is Wang Laoshun, which is tacky and auspicious.
