Common small pieces of huanghuali, including pen holders, cups and plates, bowls and cans, boxes and boxes. There are not many other types, and the rare styles are always fascinating, sometimes even breathtaking.
At an earlier exhibition, a number of small purple and yellow pieces were placed in order, perhaps a few pieces were too precious, covered by plexiglass, separated separately, and became the focus of the field.
On the right, a yellow pear pen holder, about sixteen centimeters in diameter, is carved with lotus petals on the edge of the base, and the lower bearing angle is short-legged. The local shape has characteristics, but it is not so novel.
The one next to the pen holder is different, a flat round box with a lid falls on the high platform, a circle of lines, layers of curved surfaces are put together, and the sense of spatial layering is strong.
So I asked the staff to help and open the transparent cover to take a look.
The round box has a lid, and it is gradually converged upwards to form the top of the pagoda, and the lower part is equipped with a double-layered base. A set of three pieces is exquisite and complete, and it is by no means a casual product.
From the tapered knob down, two consecutive arcs are where the lid is located, spaced by various yin and yang chords.
The next rim, the depression, and the bowl shape together form the body of the box. The mouth of the mother and son is connected up and down, and the inner chamber excavated is simple and clean.
The diameter of the widest part of the waist of the round box is 19, the diameter of the lid is 15.8, the height of the pass is 18.3 cm, and a narrow line under the box is pressed to form a circle foot, which matches the upper edge of the base.
The base is divided into two layers, hollowed out inside, and the two strings are closed into a circular convex roof, the middle waist is shrunk inwards, and the lower layer resembles an inverted ice plate, which is clearly the appearance of a Sumire round seat.
There is no doubt that this is a well-designed utility, exquisitely made, solemn and elegant in appearance, for some special purpose of use.
However, there are only a few words related to the introduction, and there is no more practical information than "holding the box". I would like to implore all Tibetan friends to brainstorm, do you know what it is used for?
