Originally in control of a club, it had the operational problem of players being owed wages and announced its withdrawal from the Chinese professional football league. On December 2, 2016, Duan Xin took over as the head coach of Heilongjiang Volcano Mingquan Football Club and coached the team for more than 5 years. As a senior local coach of Chinese football, Duan Xin has 30 years of experience as a football coach, and has brought out many players, which are deeply recognized and loved by industry insiders and fans.
Since 1992, Duan Xin has coached Shenyang Youth Football Team, Shenyang Youth Football Team, Shenyang Jinde, Liaoning Provincial Football Team, Shenyang Dongjin, Harbin Yiteng, Zhejiang Yiteng, Heilongjiang Volcano Mingquan. He has led the team to win the National Junior Football Championship Championship, the National Youth League Championship, the third place in the men's football project of the National Games, the runner-up of the Men's Football City Group of the National Games, the 3 champions of the Chinese Second League, the fourth place of the Chinese First League, the runner-up of the Chinese First League, etc., and has won the Best Coach Award of the Chinese Second League and the nomination of the Best Head Coach of the Chinese First League.
At the 2017 Tianjin National Games, the Heilongjiang Volcano Mingquan team represented Harbin City, and Duan Xin led the team to successfully break into the final 0-2 and defeated the Xi'an team to achieve the runner-up, setting the best record in the history of Heilongjiang football in the History of the National Games. Although he originally led the club team, his contribution has gone beyond this category.
