According to the Myanmar Anti-Smuggling Commission, from May 6 to May 10, the anti-smuggling department seized smuggled goods worth hundreds of millions of kyats, including teak products, wood cutting blocks, cosmetics, food, medicines, daily necessities, and smuggled cars.

According to the news, on May 6, the Yangon Provincial Special Anti-Smuggling Unit, the (6th) Criminal Police Team and the Forestry Administration' comprehensive law enforcement team seized 1.3884 tons of teak products and Toyota Wish sedans used to transport smuggled timber in the mingaradong township of Yangon's northern county district.

On May 7, an inspection team led by the Forestry Management Group seized 1.5716 tons of ISUZU model vehicles in the Leguzhen District for cutting blocks of various types of wood and transporting smuggled timber. On 7 May, the Rakhine Special Anti-Smuggling Unit and the Forestry Administration jointly carried out inspections and seized 11.2608 tons of smuggled timber of various types in Sittwe.

On 9 May, the Tax Administration seized cosmetics without any formalities for declaration during routine inspections at the international airport; the law enforcement team at the Mumpang Ma Yanqiang checkpoint seized smuggled food on a passenger car that ran directly to Bago; and the irrawaddy Special Anti-Smuggling Unit and the forestry management department seized 0.271 tonnes of smuggled timber in the Machin town area.

On 10 May, a joint law enforcement team, including the Special Anti-Smuggling Unit of Sagae Province, seized 9.63 tons of smuggled timber in the Sagae and Demus townships, and the joint law enforcement team led by the Sagae General Services Administration seized smuggled fabrics, daily necessities and food. In addition, the Joint Law Enforcement Team of Bago Province seized 6.9360 tons of smuggled timber of various types in the Drift Town District of Donggu County and the Ou Dui Town District.

According to the news, on May 6, 7, 9 and 10, anti-smuggling departments across Myanmar cracked 16 smuggling cases, involving hundreds of millions of Kyats. According to the regulations, goods that have not been declared or subject to quarantine will be seized according to law. Next, the relevant departments will further prosecute the people involved in the case and investigate the whereabouts of the goods and the owners behind them.
