Guan Shanyue (1912-2000), a native of Yangjiang, Guangdong, was an outstanding contemporary Chinese painter in mainland China and a major representative of the outstanding achievements of the Lingnan School. This year is the 110th anniversary of Guan Shanyue's birth, and coinciding with the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in Beijing, the Guangzhou Museum of Art and Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum jointly planned this commemorative exhibition, taking Guan Shanyue's works and related historical documents from the 1940s to the 1950s as the starting point, showing Guan Shanyue's thinking and choices in the turning point of history, showing people a progressive artist inspired by the Chinese Communist Party, and finally becoming "serving thousands of working people" The journey of literary and artistic workers. Through the exhibition, the organizers hope that the audience can understand how an artist has compassion, and then accept the concept of the Communist Party of China, gradually understand the people's position in history, choose to "walk with the people", strive to "serve the people", and finally become an excellent socialist literary and artistic worker.
Earth Thunder - Chu Bingchao solo exhibition
Exhibition Period: July 8 – August 6
Venue: Hall 7, Guangdong Museum of Art
Chu Bingchao was born in 1986 in Pingliang, Gansu Province, and now lives and works in Beijing. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in 2010. His creations include sculptures, paintings, installations, videos, etc. Through a series of long-term artistic practices, he continues to pay attention to social issues and actively intervenes. From the restoration of Buddha statues, to the transformation of mountains, to adventures in the wilderness, he explores the symbiotic relationship between the individual and society, art and reality in a practical way. Curated by independent curator Cui Cancan, the exhibition will revolve around the work "Seven Houses Ring Screen", which will lead to a series of creations that the artist has carried out in natural civilization over the past 10 years, repairing abandoned Buddha statues, pushing back stones that slipped off the top of the mountain, building a bridge, digging up a meadow, solidifying a stretch of coastline, carving reliefs of the moon, recording the shape of a rain, and so on. These artistic practices unfold in different times and in the air present us with a longer civilization and a broader possibility, a romantic story and modern spirit that seems to be the "myth of Sisyphus", or the "Yugong moving mountains" and "Jingwei reclamation" in the Chinese tradition.

Strange flowers blossom - Sun Hongmin oil painting exhibition
Exhibition Period: July 15 - August 6

In the contemporary Chinese oil painting world, female painter Sun Hongmin has the sincere and delicate emotions and superior visual understanding unique to female artists. At a time when the postmodern atmosphere is pervasive of the world, she "expresses personal feelings with Chinese painting techniques", uniquely integrates the deep and generous oriental temperament and the essence of Chinese classical painting into the creation of oil paintings, a series of distinctive, elegant and chic oil painting masterpieces present the moving images of many pure and beautiful young girls with rich connotations, creating a certain beauty and elegance full of contemporary oriental atmosphere. This exhibition exhibits about 200 oil paintings created by oil painter Sun Hongmin since 2004, which are divided into four units: "Girl Girl" with calm and classical tone, "Cat Girl" with refined and elegant colors, "World of Flowers and Flowers" with bright colors, and "Cat Child" with cute and childish shapes, which I believe can bring the audience a pleasant aesthetic enjoyment.

Five films – based on Lu Xun's novel of the same name
Period: June 10 – October 7
Venue: Guangdong Lu Xun Memorial Hall on the second floor of the exhibition hall
In 2020, Guangzhou Lu Xun Memorial Hall planned and launched the exhibition "Film Fan" Lu Xun, inviting Mr. Lu Xun to have a dialogue with the audience across time and space as a "film fan" and share his movie-watching experience, movie-watching experience and film concepts. At the end of the dialogue, Mr. Lu Xun mentioned that someone wanted to put his "A Q Zheng Biography" on the screen, but he believed: "'A Q Zheng Biography' really has no elements to adapt the script and the movie, because once it is staged, there will only be funny, and my work of this article is really not for the purpose of being funny or mournful, and the scene in it is afraid that China's 'stars' at this moment cannot be expressed." Later, with the development of Chinese films, Lu Xun's main five works have been adapted into movies, and even Lu Xun himself has been invited into the film to become a "protagonist" or "supporting role". Film is not only a way for Lu Xun to experience life and observe society, but also a medium for disseminating, interpreting and extending Lu Xun's works. These five films, starting from Lu Xun's classic literary works, carry out visual transformation, explore the eternal themes of individuality, women and national nature embodied in Lu Xun's novels, and realize the reconstruction of Lu Xun's spirit in the contemporary cultural context.
Modigliani - the common soul
Exhibition Period: May 20, 2022—May 5, 2023
Location: LG2, Sihai City, No. 390 Hanxi Avenue East, Panyu District, Guangzhou
As the annual master art exhibition program of MOVI COSMOS®, this exhibition will bring 100 classic limited edition lithographs and crossover works of Modigliani presented for the first time in South China. Modigliani (born 12 July 1884 in Livorno, a port in Dosgana, Italy) is one of the most popular and controversial artists in the art world. He was maverick and refused to join any of the mainstream art schools of the time, such as Futurism, Cubism, Fauvism, Abstraction, Expressionism, and Surrealism. Modigliani's work exudes renaissance serenity and serenity, the power of simplicity in the primitive totems of Africa, and the flow of lines between classical Greek and Roman aesthetics. If Modigliani's work is the belief in the emotions of life, digital media is a bridge across the heart, and the interaction between the two allows the gradually dusty mind to meet in the soul of the universe. The narrative of the temporal dimension transforms the exhibition space into an active narrator, and Modi's work and contemporary interactive installations engage in a dialogue through time and space, stimulating the inner connection of each living organism and returning to the contemplation of human nature itself. In this special period, there is an urgent need for special exhibitions of master art with humanistic value to inject spiritual energy into us.
Enigma Nest - Soft Sculpture Lin Rongsheng solo exhibition
Period: June 25 – August 25
Location: COCOON Cocoon Gallery
Cocoon Gallery and artist Lin Rongsheng embark on an experiment in the aesthetics of nature in the mist, and the exhibition features the artist's insect series. This exhibition is also Cocoon Gallery's attempt and exploration of soft sculpture. Everyone is a little afraid of insects, and evolutionary psychology has revealed that the visually high recognition of insects by humans is engraved in genes. We have many reasons to be afraid of insects, and our aesthetic reaction to insects is also partly due to the strangeness that comes with this sense of fear. Lin Rongsheng used cloth as a material to create a series of soft sculpture artworks of the "Insect Chronicle", showing the unique beauty of insects. In this special exhibition, she tries to integrate this strange aesthetic into the scene, using the entire exhibition venue as part of the work to jointly tell a more complex inner emotion. You can feel a little mysterious, peaceful and obsessive emotional atmosphere, flowing out of every corner as the line of sight wanders around. Insect art has been given a more unique personal color by Lin Rongsheng, as if entering an unknown world composed of inner fantasies.

Wander the streets and roam!
Duration: July - September
Location: Guangzhou and other unknown cities
As a continuation of last year's theme of "Follow the Edge", the "Walk down the street, roam the street" project will go out of the art museum, go to the street, and enter the continuous operation of the city site to carry out more action and production. Fifteen (group) wanderers will practice different ways and paths into the city with us from their respective disciplinary backgrounds or daily life experiences, and finally weave into a composite, flexible methodological network to toss out a public "urban roaming toolbox". From July to August, we will operate in Guangzhou, trying and carrying out different roaming methods. In September, we will leave Guangzhou and go to a new urban site to test how different approaches work on specific individuals and how to inspire new paths and methods in relatively unfamiliar "experimental fields." Finally, whether it is the overlap of different locations in the field roaming, or the commonality of different methodologies, it will make this three-month urban roaming operation produce a new and currently unpredictable "node". When these "nodes" emerge, perhaps we can get a clearer picture of what's happening in the city, what's happening, and what binds us together.

In this experience tour, ct. LAB continues the original concept of cyberpunk, with the concept of "source" as the concept to create a light and shadow art theater. From the "digital organism" to the "geometric era", and finally showing the "future seasons" and the "exotic roaming" of the virtual city, after the audience enters the space, they can follow the video and audio to diverge consciousness, which can abandon the inherent logic and trigger a new reverie. At the same time, YOD ART MUSIC SPACE will convey a minimalist futuristic aesthetic through the understanding of the scene and the combination of lights. You – the forgotten frontiers
Exhibition Period: July 10–July 17
Venue: Jupiter Museum of Art
In 1971, Linda Nochlin, a pioneer of American feminism, published Why Aren't There Great Female Artists? is regarded as the beginning of feminist art history. Due to the deposition of social value orientation and historical concepts, women's values are often weakened and ignored, and more and more artists try to speak for women in the field of art and society, and feminist art has spread. The initiators of this exhibition are a group of high school students, who take art as a reflection and extension of gender, and through photography, painting, installation, new media, etc., integrate the traceability of history, the pursuit of art, the doubts and challenges of gender, convey the thinking and perception of women's perspective, and present a unique and diverse art exhibition. It tries to fill in the missing female perspectives in art history, calling attention to the various problems that women face in the social environment. It aims to trigger deep thinking on gender issues and convey the power of women through the information transmission and emotional exchange between works and the audience, so as to promote the benign development of society. Let us get closer and look at the "boundaries" that have been forgotten and ignored, but are still faintly visible. Perhaps one day we will not have to emphasize the word "feminine" in future artistic developments.
Mountains and rivers - Li Zhijun solo exhibition
Exhibition Period: July 8 — August 10
Venue: No. 2888 Keyuan South Road, Haizhu Community, Yuehai Street, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Shenzhen, Shenzhen Bay MixC B1 China Resources Building Art Center
On July 8, 2022, "Mountains and Rivers - Li Zhijun Solo Exhibition" opened in hiart space Shenzhen. A total of 30 new works by artists are exhibited in this exhibition. For Li Zhijun, painting is the wrapping of the times, the revelation of nature, the internal drive of vitality, and the transformation of fate. The figurative shape and abstract core possessed in this new work extend the process and context of Li Zhijun's cognition, experience, thinking, perception and exploration of life, nature, and the universe. Balancing the abyss-like infinity with the fleeting experience of one's own life, painting offers the possibility of showing through concrete brushstrokes and details the power of a vastness approaching infinity, and an almost cosmic cold order and rhythm. Li Zhijun passes through time, returns to time, passes through the body, gets rid of the body, and expects the viewer to be able to communicate with the artist on the spiritual and spiritual level, or have the power to live. The exhibition runs until August 10, 2022, so welcome to visit!
Moregio Cattelan: May you be here
Period: July 9 – October 16
Venue: Shenzhen Maritime World Culture and Art Center L1 Binhai Pavilion
Cattelan was born in 1960 to a poor Catholic family in Padua, Italy. He dropped out of school to work at the age of 17 and did not happen to become an artist until the age of 30. He could not paint or sculpt, and he never received any professional artistic training. All the sculptures were made by craftsmen or artists he commissioned, and all he could offer was genius-like artistic ideas. Perhaps it is these complicated and unsettling experiences that lay the foundation for the huge mockery of reality and the reflection on love and death behind his seemingly playful and naughty works. The result is bold and playful, but particularly serious in its sharp cultural criticism. The elusive Cattelan has always teased the art world and the world in his own way. He draws on people and things in the real world, figurative, direct, and provocative; Good at playing with the size ratio and breaking the logic of reality, he will make the skeleton of the cat as large as a dinosaur, and there is also an elevator that cannot even fit one foot. What's interesting about contemporary art is that it's open and ever-changing, and like many well-known artists, Cattelan's work is destined to face glory and controversy from the moment of birth. So how should we look at and think about art itself today? In this exhibition, Cattelan once again gives the initiative to interpret his artistic career to the audience.

The night the comet came: Shen Cai× Shao Wei× Yang Jing
Period: June 18 – July 18
Venue: LAN Gallery (No. 9, 3rd Floor, Happy Coast Shopping Center, Nanshan District, Shenzhen)
Shen Cai, as a new generation of artists who have attracted much attention and expectation, graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Parsons in New York, and her artistic practice is mainly based on multi-media integration. The experience of studying and working in Germany for more than ten years is the composition of the philosophical background behind the artist Shao Wei's works, and the Chinese experience gives her unconscious awareness of her art. Yang Jing's Art Road is one of the most "orthodox" roads of the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1996 and the Mural Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. Behind the completely different creative paths, the three artists' pursuit of the purity of spiritual expression, the exploration of extreme freedom of the stylistic threshold, and the overlapping space of thinking formed by these are crossed by comets. Shen Cai, Shao Wei, and Yang Jing's artistic practice builds on a model of the world: when we realize that we may live in an infinite number of universes folded in the same physical space but isolated from each other and independently evolved, we cannot but imagine that parallel worlds that originally did not intersect with each other will have the opportunity to meet; We have envisioned a completely different version of reality or achievability; The choices we have missed and the decisions we have made will be rewritten.

Flower Blossom Nanyue Contemporary Lingnan Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition
Exhibition Period: July 9 – August 7
Venue: Tianxiong Art Museum
Since modern times, the controversies and changes stirred up in the field of Chinese painting and the new modernist tradition nurtured and created by Chinese painters in the process of adapting and adjusting to modern society have undoubtedly provided a theoretical basis, value orientation and image resources for the subsequent exploration of contemporary Chinese painting. As a traditional visual style, flower and bird painting is also an intriguing field in the modern transformation of Chinese art. For more than a hundred years, compared with figure painting and landscape painting, the flower and bird paintings in Chinese painting have a certain enduring humanistic characteristics and spiritual core in terms of feeling the temporal changes of nature, especially in the point of observing people's inner world by "borrowing things and chanting", which has become a way for artists to observe the world and question themselves. As we all know, in today's profound changes in the living environment and personal self-awareness, the new feelings and values of the concept of time and space are inevitable in any cultural field, and flower and bird painting has always faced the problem of shifting from "traditional" to "modern".
