I am a relatively Buddhist mother, from the birth of the child, the elderly in the family constantly remind me: "Don't give the child diapers not wet, how good is it to use the urine ring, save money, and the child is comfortable." ”
But is that really the case?
My mother-in-law gave me a lot of urine rings made from old clothes, and my mother also told me that when I was a child, she used urine rings for me.
But after I tried, I felt that it was still necessary to give the child diapers, and the urine ring basically did not have any advantage in addition to the cheap price:
1. After the urine ring is soaked in the urine by the child, it must be replaced in time, otherwise it will be very humid. The diaper is not wet and absorbent, even if the child urinates several times, it can keep the layer of contact with the child's skin dry and comfortable.
I have seen a lot of children with grandmothers, small farts red, grow diaper rash, a question is basically because of the use of urine rings can not be replaced in time, the child's tender little farts are red.
This is rarely the case with diapers. Because the good quality of urine is not wet and absorbs water, even if the child has urinated a few bubbles of urine, the skin-friendly layer that touches the child's skin can still remain dry.
2, the urine ring has strong permeability, often the child lies on the bed, a bubble of urine is not only the urine ring is all wet, but also the small mattress, sheets, mattresses and so on under the child are completely wet.
My mother-in-law gave my daughter a urine ring, and after my mother-in-law changed the small mattress, sheets and wiped the mattress under the child several times, she no longer repeatedly reminded me that I must give the child a urine ring.
This phenomenon will not occur when using diapers, which is relatively practical.
3, the urine ring is very troublesome to wash, and the diaper is not wet and used up, it is directly thrown away, and there is no need to wash at all.
Newborn babies, if you use a urine ring, you have to wash at least 20 urine rings a day, especially after the child has a stool, the urine ring is difficult to wash, which is a waste of manpower.
The diaper is not wet, there is no problem, after using it, it is directly thrown away, which greatly frees the mother's hands.
4, the urine ring is used repeatedly, unhygienic, and the diaper is always replaced, clean and hygienic.
The urine ring is used repeatedly after washing, even if it is washed clean, it is not as clean and hygienic as the disposable urine is not wet and hygienic, the baby's skin is soft, and clean hygiene is very important for the baby.
Therefore, giving your child diapers is an option for most families.
Of course, some elderly people also encourage young parents to give their children "to pee", for this, I think it is not necessary.
What are the harms of "putting and peeing" on children?
I have also tried to urinate the for my daughter, and I have consulted a professional pediatrician for this, and found that there are many disadvantages to giving the child to urinate:
1, the baby's sphincter and sphincter to 2 to 3 years old to develop maturity, too early to put the to urinate easy for the child to form a conditioned reflex, but let the child grow up is not easy to defecate independently, and even easy to let the child urinate incontinence.
2, we will find such a phenomenon in daily life: after the child who does not wet with diapers quits diapers, he rarely wets the bed at night, and can control his own bowel movements well, while the children who are often put on the to urinate are instead at the age when they should defecate spontaneously, but they love to wet the bed at night and cannot control their own urination.
3, is not conducive to children's sleep.
Parents who often give their children to pee are no exception at night, they will pick up the child who is sleeping soundly and pee the, adults are tired, and the child can't sleep well.
4, let the child be impatient.
Parents who urinate on the often give their children time to urinate according to their own judgment, rather than according to the child's own physiological needs, to let the child excrete and urinate.
The child is held in the arms of the parent to urinate the, very reluctant, sometimes even crying, so that the child is very impatient, affecting the child's mood.
And parents want to do a variety of methods, want to let the child pull or pee out, which in itself is not in line with the physiological law of the child's natural growth, will have a bad impact on the child's psychology.
Therefore, there is no need for parents to give their children and pee.
After listening to the old man's words and urinating on my daughter a few times, I found that the child did not want me to do that, and it was time-consuming, especially when I knew the disadvantages of putting on the urine, I stopped giving the child.
My daughter only successfully quit diapers when she was 2 and a half years old, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that she was very successful in quitting wet diapers, and after quitting wetting, she almost never wet her bed at night, that is, when she could control her bowel movements on her own, it was easy to give her a wet and no bad performance.
For children to quit diapers, my principle is to go with the flow, not impatient:
The old man in the family has always advised me to quit the diaper for the child as soon as possible, for the simple reason that the old man thinks that the diaper is too expensive.
But the child grows up only once, and I don't want to save this little money and make the child anxious or have a bad impact on the child's psychology, so I have been observing the child and choosing a good time to let the child quit diaperping.
I have also seen that under the reprimand and even scolding pressure of parents, children over 1 year old quit diapers, but I think there is really no need to force children to wear for a few months, or even wear diapers for one or two years, will not be ruined, and cause bad psychological and physiological impacts on children, it will hurt children for a lifetime.
Therefore, the principle of me to give my child to quit diapers is to go with the flow and not force the child.
When the child was 2 years old, I bought a small toilet for the child, tried to let her sit on the toilet to defecate by herself, and after several attempts, I found that she had no awareness of spontaneous defecation and gave up.
I knew I needed to wait until the child was willing to defecate on his own and could control his bowel movements, and then I would guide them a little more, and then I would do more with less.
1, the child's sphincter in the 2 to 3 years old to develop mature, the child can gradually control their own bowel movements, generally at this stage to let the child quit diaper is better, the child generally at the age of 3 in kindergarten, quit diaper before going to kindergarten, parents are more assured.
2. Parents should be patient.
Parents can give their children pull-up pants like small panties before the child quits diapering, which is easier for adults to take off the child to the toilet than the diaper.
Parents can tell their children: "Baby, you see the small toilet that your mother bought for you is so beautiful, if you want to pull stink or pee, you can tell your mother, let's sit on the small toilet and urinate?"
Children aged 2 to 3 can generally understand these words from parents, when the child tells you: "Mom, I want to pee", you can let the child take off the pull-down pants, sit on the toilet, after a few training, the child slowly knows that he is sitting on the toilet.
My daughter learned to go to the toilet on her own when she was 2 and a half years old, and basically it only took me a week to successfully teach her to quit diapers.
3, do not prematurely train children to go to the toilet on their own.
As mentioned earlier, the sphincter of children before the age of 2 has not yet developed well, and parents are eager to train their children to go to the toilet independently, which is not in line with the characteristics of the child's own growth and development, and it is not good for the child's body and mind.
Parents train their children to quit diapers can try to come, if parents feel that the time has come, they can teach their children to sit on the toilet, see the child's reaction, but do not force and scold the child, just go with the flow, if the child can learn the best, if the child can not learn, then the parents need to wait.
4, abstain from diapers and do not wet age is not the key, mainly depends on whether the child himself is adapted.
Sooner or later, children can quit diapers, therefore, parents do not have to be anxious or too anxious about their children because of diapers, parents can try to let their children quit diapers, mainly depending on the child's own adaptability, age is not the key.
Generally, children will take the initiative to say: "Mom, I want to pee, I want to pull the stink" and so on, basically let the child quit diapers is very easy.
My experience is to go with the flow, guide slowly, respect the rules of children's growth, and it is not difficult to quit diapers.
