On August 9th, during the season of melon and fruit, the annual Jinshan Shiquan Grape Festival was held at the Shanghai Shiquan Grape Cooperative in Luxiang, Jinshan. At the event, Ye Wendi, director of the Agricultural and Rural Committee of Jinshan District, and Huang Huiyun, secretary of the Party Committee of Luxiang Town, jointly inaugurated the "National Excellent Farmer Field School" for the Shiquan Grape Cooperative. It is reported that this honor was awarded by the Central Agricultural Radio and Television School and the China Farmers' Sports Association, which is the first in Jinshan.
As a leading figure in the grape industry, Lu Yujin, head of the Shiquan Grape Cooperative, established the Shiquan Grape Farmers Field School in May 2017 in order to enable more fruit farmers to become rich and well-off through grape planting, taking advantage of the unique teaching environment under the grapevines. In recent years, under the guidance of the relevant departments of the city, district and town, the school has carried out grape technology training for surrounding fruit farmers no less than 6 times a year, and during the epidemic last year, it also carried out 3 online trainings, which greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of growers, and the quality of Jinshan grapes has improved year by year. At present, the grape income in Jinshan District has increased by about 15% on the original basis. "Grape King" Lu Yujin answers more than 200 grape technical consultation calls every year, "visits" more than 80 gardens, more than 1,000 households, more than 10,000 acres of grapes have enjoyed its technical dividends, and the economic losses caused by planting technology have been recovered by more than 80 million yuan.
At the same time, in order to allow more growers to benefit from the Shiquan brand, Shiquan Grapes integrated the Shiquan brand into 12 cooperatives as early as 2014, covering an area of more than 1,500 mu. Last year, the Yangtze River Delta Jinshan District Grape Industrialization Consortium was established, aiming to face the Yangtze River Delta, and implement graded packaging of grapes that meet the "Shiquan standards and Shiquan brand", unify sales, and promote common prosperity. In the past year, 6 growers who meet the standards have shared the dividends of the Shiquan brand, and the sales volume has reached more than 30,000 jin, and the price has increased from the original 8-10 yuan a catty to 25 yuan.
With the development of the times, high-quality new varieties of grapes are also emerging. At the event site, the participants jointly tasted the new excellent grape varieties developed and introduced by the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences in recent years, and evaluated the grape varieties such as Shenhua and Shenli with good taste and good taste, Dr. Xi Xiaojun, associate researcher of the Institute of Forestry and Fruit Trees of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said: The direction of our current research on grape varieties is mainly aimed at the current situation of the lack of agricultural labor in Shanghai, and the introduction of natural fruits, high quality, and labor-saving excellent strains suitable for planting in Shanghai. For many years, it has been working with shiquan grape cooperatives to select new grape strains and increase promotion efforts. Lu Yujin said that in the future, the cooperative will increase the cultivation research on the new excellent strains selected today, and after the relevant technologies are matured, organize key training for grape growers to strive for their early listing.
This event also symbolizes that the main varieties of sunshine roses, romantic red faces, and Shenhua planted by Shiquan grapes will be listed in large quantities. It is worth mentioning that the harvest of grapes is inseparable from the strict and effective implementation of epidemic prevention measures and the hard work of employees during the epidemic. Because March was the critical season for grape spring management, in the face of the sudden epidemic, Lu Yujin and 25 other cooperative employees began to eat and live in orchards before the sealing and control management, and carried out grape production management in a closed manner. Although there is a shortage of labor compared with previous years, Lu Yujin led the workers in the park to carry forward the spirit of not being afraid of hardship and tiredness, almost all of them took the initiative to work for nearly 12 hours a day, and everyone alleviated the contradiction between the season and the labor force to the greatest extent by extending the working hours, laying the foundation for seizing a bumper harvest of grapes. Due to the strong measures and remarkable results, so far, the Shiquan Grape Cooperative has never found an outbreak case; Shiquan Cooperative grape production and sales are booming, it is expected that this year's average output value of 45,000 yuan, the new varieties of mu value exceeded 100,000 yuan, the economic benefits are expected to increase by about 20% compared with last year's bumper harvest.
