Emotion and reason

I) There are two reaction systems in our body, system one: intuitive thinking, rapid unconscious instinctive response, and small differences between individuals. System two: rational thinking. (2) Smart people do stupid things, sometimes it is not a matter of knowledge structure, but a lack of relevant beliefs. Rational thinking requires us to install the correct "mental program" for ourselves. It is a qualitative knowledge, a belief, a tendency, a strategy in your head, not declarative knowledge. (3) Weaknesses in instinctive thinking: 1. Ignoring the base ratio, we are usually more likely to react to readily available, vivid, personalized information, and we are directly stimulated by the expected intensity rather than concerned with its probability. It is necessary to cultivate a probabilistic thinking and achieve a qualitative understanding. 2. Irrational attribution. (iv) Emotions are the driving force of our goals and the mechanism of mobilizing behavior. Most of the time, emotions promote rational thinking. Emotions and reason are not completely opposed, emotions are an important tool of rational thinking. Without the escort of reason, we are like emotional beasts. (v) The disconnect between emotion and reason: One situation is that we know the right way to think and act, but we just can't. Another case is when we have an emotional mapping error. Some emotional responses are difficult to cut off because of your own understanding, an authoritative explanation, and as an animalistic heritage it seems untamable. (vi) How to implement rational suppression of emotions and avoid wrong instinctive reactions 1) Memory is easy to make mistakes, make lists 2) Increase vigilance 3) Reverse thinking, multiple angles are possible to think repeatedly 4) Step by step, anticipate impulses, and restrain in advance 5) Deal with important things face-to-face or voice communication 6) Major decisions to avoid making when tired (vii) Finally, our intuitive system needs the escort of rational thinking, but intuition may be the real driver, the guide of our survival life.
