Gandhi, whose full name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, is regarded by Indians as the "Father of the Nation" and is the most prominent leader in the national liberation struggle of the Indian people. In 1944, Gandhi fell ill in prison, and by this time World War II had reached its final stages, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill did not want Gandhi to die in prison, so Gandhi was released from prison. After his release from prison, Gandhi again became the leader of the Indian national liberation movement. After his victory in World War II, Gandhi wanted India to become a complete country, but in the end he accepted the plan to make India and Pakistan independent, and Pakistan became an independent Muslim country.
On 21 September 1945, Britain agreed to India's independence. On the day of the handover, Gandhi did not participate in the celebrations, but spun cotton alone in his small house. Gandhi's silence did not bring peace, the conflict riots once again appeared, Gandhi once again went on hunger strike, and told everyone that he would continue to eat until the two sides stopped the conflict.
At first, Gandhi's hunger strike had an effect. But on January 30, 1948, after a hunger strike, Gandhi was shot dead by Hindu fanatic Nanduram Goldsee, and a generation of legends fell into loneliness at the age of 79. When the blood stained Gandhi's white wrapped cloth and he was dying, Gandhi uttered his last voice, "Please forgive this poor man." ”
According to Gandhi's last wishes, his body was cremated the next day. Countless people rushed to the place where Gandhi was cremated, and Gandhi's body was placed on a sandalwood pile.
