The animation to be recommended today is a reverse A animation, who calls the reverse A file good-looking animation more. This is a near-futuristic sci-fi animation based on real reality, telling the daily story of how a group of protagonists defend the freedom of the library. This is based on the novel, which was broadcast in April 2008 as "Library Wars" (Library Battle).
"Defending the freedom of the library is part of the national struggle to defend freedom and human rights. We are willing to cooperate with all groups, institutions and individuals who have a common position in defending the freedom of libraries, and assume the unswerving responsibility of defending the freedom of libraries. - Declaration on Library Freedom
The story takes place in the air of modern Japan, where the government supposedly enacted and implemented a law called the Media Improvement Act in order to maintain public order and good customs and eliminate the harm of vulgar language to young people, based on which two national agencies, the "Media Improvement Committee" and the "Lianghua Secret Service Agency" were established to censor the media and publications, and those who resisted censorship were also used by force. The only thing that can be confronted is the library-based independent armed organization Book Corps. As the antithesis of the Lianghua Law, the library team adheres to the Library Freedom Law, which is expanded from the Declaration on Library Freedom, "When the freedom of the library is violated, my generation will unite to defend freedom", and the library special forces composed of library elites are the backbone of the protection of library freedom. In 2019 ( 31 years ) , more than 30 years after the Implementation of the Media Improvement Act , the heroine Kasawara Yu became the first member of the special forces of the female library and joined the war to defend the library...
At first glance, the introduction to the setting is likely to treat "Library Wars" as a serious dystopian work, but it is not, and the story told under the seemingly cruel surface is quite girlish. At the beginning of the anime, the audience is told that the heroine Kasawara Yu is bent on joining the library special forces because she is still a high school student, when she is excited about the fairy tale book that is looking forward to a sequel for several years, she unfortunately bumps into the review of the Lianghua team, and it is the release of a book team member that allows her to see the book. For Kasawara Yu, who idolizes the library team members who do not know their names and names and remember their appearance, she is not so much a flower girl who cherishes a great ideal of saving human civilization as she is a flower girl who is bent on finding the prince of her dreams. Because of her reckless personality, developed limbs and simple mind, Kasahara Yu was taught a lesson by the instructors of the superior hall, but in the execution of tasks and emergencies, she eventually became a resistance force that could stand alone.
However, although the book team is a fierce organization, the senior members are not tall and full of perfect people, such as Kasawara Yu's devil instructor Tang Shangdu. The identity of the official is obvious, the instructor in the hall is the prince that Kasawara has in mind, and this truth that neither of them can accept is known to the audience for a long time. In stark contrast, the tall and mighty messenger of justice in Kasahara Yu's memory is in reality a "small point" who is half a head shorter than 165 and 170, rational and decisive but serious and rigid. Although the two did not look at each other well at first, the relationship between the two seemed to the people around them to be really verbal, and Kasahara's continuous rescue in the hall was ironclad evidence. What is more rare is that in the context of war and smoke, the love scene occupies a lot of space but there is no sense of violation, Kasahara and Dojo are both growth-type characters, the former is gradually mature in mind, and the latter is more and more like a normal person who can express seven passions and six desires. Although the free will of all human beings must be protected, everyone as an individual, even if they survive under high pressure, still has to live, which is one of the reasons why "Library Wars" is attractive.
One of the characteristics of this film is the contrast between the heights of men and women.
Regarding the supervision of this film, it is Takayuki Hama, who became famous for directing "The Prince of Tennis", and although he joined Asia Hall shortly after graduating from high school, he became famous after going to Production I.G and TRANS ARTS. Takayuki Hamana worked as the original artist for many animations, and felt that his strength in painting was limited, so he changed to a performer until he became a supervisor. After doing the "Library War" TV animation for 4 years, when he heard that the theatrical version was going to be released, it was Takayuki Hamana who had been in the industry for 25 years, which also made him sigh, and all the 25 years of experience in the industry were given to this film.
The original author of "Library Wars" was Japanese female light novelist and novelist Hiroshi Arikawa. Although she originally debuted as a light novelist, Hiroshi Arikawa describes herself as a "light novel for adults", and the elements covered in her works are also rich, including SF, suspense, and romance novels. Unlike ordinary light novels, Hiroshi Arikawa's works are published in the same hardcover binding as literary books, rather than portable and simple library books (including debut works that were later supplemented in hardcover editions), which is definitely a unique treatment in light novels from the electric shock library. With such qualifications, it is not surprising that "Library Wars" won the Japan Department Feature Award for long-form works for the SF works at the Nebula Awards for the selected works. As a series, the novel consists of 4 volumes and 2 volumes of Library Wars, Library Civil Unrest, Library Crisis and Library Revolution, and the production of TV animation was handed over to Production I.G. This is also the first anime adapted from the novel to be broadcast in reverse A.

In Hiroshi Arikawa's plan, the novel originally had only 3 volumes, but at the request of the publisher, there was a fourth volume, and the content of this volume did not catch up with the production of the TV animation, but was presented in the form of a drama version after the TV animation was broadcast for four years, and there was no need to worry about whether the flavor was changed, and the theatrical version of "Library War: Wings of Revolution" (図書館戦のつばさ) was still produced by the original version of the TV animation. There is also a manga version of "Library Wars LOVE & WAR", which takes the heroine's growth and love parts as the main line, and is painted by Bow きいろ, and began to be serialized in "LaLa" of Shiraizumisha on October 24, 2007.
Hiroshi Arikawa is a very efficient novelist, since 2003 with "Salt Street" won the 10th Electric Shock Novel Award and debuted the following year, almost has been working hard, and many works have been adapted into movies or TV series, if you pay a little attention to Japanese film and television, you must have seen or heard of TV series or movies adapted from her works, such as "Migrant Workers Buy a House" starring Kazuya Ninomiya, "Flying Intelligence Room" starring Yui Niigaki, and "Come sightseeing" starring Ryo Nishikido! Prefectural Hospitality Class", "Botanical Atlas" starring Tsuyoshi Iwata and Mitsuki Takahata, etc. "Library War" is no exception, the male and female protagonists Dokami instructor and Kasawa Yu are Okada Junichi and Eikaura Nana respectively, fukushi Akane, who was still a newcomer at the time, played the elite Tezuka Hikaru of the same level as Kasawara Yu, and the heroine's friend, Shibasaki Mako, who is the director of library information, was played by Chiaki Kuriyama, and it can be said that the live-action casting interpretation is also more loyal to the original and good-looking.
"Library War" is not Hiroshi Kawakawa's first armed forces-themed novel, her preference for military elements is influenced by manga works, such as "The Ultimate Mercenary", "War Zone 88", etc., in addition to the Carmela series of Heisei Carmela trilogy, which also left a deep impression on the handsome self-defense force image. While composing the second book in the "Self-Defense Forces Trilogy", "Bottom of the Sea", Hiroshi Arikawa was inspired to hear her husband who loves to go to the library introduce the "Declaration of Library Freedom", and based on this, he conceived "Library War". Due to the limitation of space, the description of the structure and history of the book team itself is actually not very detailed, and the novel is much clearer: why the book team was founded, how it has experienced a painful bloody struggle; the book team has a base commander responsible for defense, and there is also a librarian responsible for library business; the members of the book team have different classes and badges, and the scope of power is expanded upwards in turn...
Hiroshi Arikawa mentioned the reasons for this in the interview, if you do not think about these details at the beginning, you will encounter many troubles and difficulties in the subsequent development, and decide the organizational structure as soon as possible in order to make the plot development not lose control. Because of the fine arrangement in various details, but also caused some voices, feel that the work to put the foothold on love and daily life and other content is a bit wasteful, the author herself does not think so, she said that she decided early on to use simple values to write entertainment things, because this is also very valuable. The single book in the Library Wars series also topped the list of romance novels by magazine ダ・ヴィンチ magazine, which is enough to show the success of this work on the entertainment level.

The reason why human beings can inherit the integration of wisdom for thousands of years, the existence of libraries must be said to be hard work, books represent civilization, the right to obtain book record knowledge is to obtain freedom, and it is not uncommon for libraries to become organs of power in science fiction. Although on closer inspection, "Library Wars" may not be completely realistic and common sense, but it still does not hinder its watchability. It is not necessary to give every dystopian element of the idea of carrying a heavy burden, the guardians of the library are struggling to grow, just to give freedom to the library of the future, and this is enough.
