The answers to these age-old mysteries have begun to surface in history. On the 12th, the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau released the important archaeological discoveries of Shaanxi in 2022, among which the archaeological excavation of the mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin has new harvests.
This is the third archaeological excavation of the general figurines found by the third archaeological excavation of pit No. 1, which lasted for more than ten years, and more than 220 terracotta figurines were newly discovered, and the arrangement of military formations was initially clarified, and the production procedures of Qinling terracotta figurines were also clarified. The third archaeological excavation of Pit No. 1 began in 2009, with an excavation area of about 430 square meters, and has so far cleaned more than 220 terracotta figurines, 16 pottery horses, 4 chariots, as well as horses, weapons, production tools, etc.
According to Shen Maosheng, a researcher at the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin, the architectural structure of Pit No. 1 is frame-type, and the technology is more primitive than that of the box-type burial pit, which can be inferred to be built earlier in the mausoleum. At the same time, this archaeological excavation also made a number of breakthroughs: clarifying the types and generies of weapons, clearing the first shield in the pit, confirming the functions of special figurines, and initially clarifying the arrangement of military formations. Shen Maosheng said that the archaeological excavation also clarified the process of making terracotta figurines: after the terracotta figurines are molded into large scales, they are first carved in detail, and then the arms are bonded. Shen Maosheng also said that the archaeological excavation showed that the Yong Road had been dug up, and it was speculated that someone used the Yong Road to enter the Gong Pit. Archaeologists believe that the people who can use the Yong Road to enter the pit for destruction must be the people who participated in the construction of the pit and think of the Qin soldiers who surrendered Xiang Yu, and these people must be familiar with the road if they accept Xiang Yu's instructions to destroy. Therefore, the signs of Yongdao can provide very strong evidence for Xiang Yu's destruction of the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum and the Terracotta Army Pit.
